Closure.
My first and final post of 2023. For the folks that followed me and/or anyone that used to pay attention to all the nonsense I used to post, I just wanted to do one last time since I didn’t when I left in 2021.
I’ve learned and grown so much in 2022 even though it was only a year difference. So much in fact, I can say that I’ve learned more in 2022 than any other in my 32 years. It was a truly opening year with both the best and the worst experiences of my life. And that’s all I can say about that. You can really experience a lot in one year, even change into an entirely different person.
As for this page, it was race-based and served as an outlet for voices, concerns, and justice in general for namely Asian Americans. But I do wanna say that in the larger sense of the world, we’re all just people trying to fit somewhere in it—Asian American or not. Sometimes I just wish we could see that. At the same time though, the world can be a very cruel or welcoming place depending on who you are and what you look like. That’s just reality.
To those that I’ve had long and deep conversations with, and even just little interactions with, thanks. That’s all I can say because something as simple as that is all that’s needed to change and even grow a person sometimes.
And to everyone that I’ve hurt on here or said mean things to, I just wanted to say sorry. I admit I was a jerk and still am sometimes. But maybe sometimes, it takes being a jerk to grow from it and to really see how far you’ve come as a person. Still doesn’t excuse the fact that others had to take my crap though.
For 2023 and beyond, may we all be blessed with peace and good health. And just for those that aren’t sure or maybe haven’t reached it yet, may we all become someone that we can be proud of being. That maybe even others can be proud of too because as individually as we try to be sometimes or maybe all the time, it takes a village. It really does.
Anyway, take care of yourselves and each other. It’s easier to say and harder to do but worth it in the end. May peace smile upon us.
