NOVEMBER 11, 1993 It is announced that Leonardo DiCaprio will co-star in "The Quick and the Dead".
Variety said:
Actor Leonardo DiCaprio reached an agreement Thursday to star opposite Sharon Stone and Gene Hackman in TriStar Pictures' western "The Quick and the Dead." [...] DiCaprio wins a role that makes him the envy of many a teen boy in America, since it calls for him to have a flirtation with Stone; however, the relationship falls just short of romance.
The film was released in February 10, 1995.
NOVEMBER 11, 1974 Leonardo DiCaprio is born.
NOVEMBER 10, 2002 It is announced that Leonardo DiCaprio will produce and possibly star in "The Gardener of Eden".
Variety said:
Leonardo DiCaprio's Initial Entertainment Group-based Appian Way Prods. has optioned a spec from Adam "Tex" Davis, "The Gardener of Eden." Story concerns a ne'er-do-well college dropout who returns to his hometown and receives unexpected accolades when he inadvertently saves a local's life. This inspires him to set up more would-be disasters so he can again benefit from saving the day. [...] No decision has been made as to whether DiCaprio will act in the film in addition to producing it.
The film was later made with Kevin Connolly directing and Lukas Haas starring. DiCaprio stayed on the project only as a producer.
NOVEMBER 9, 2011 "J. Edgar" opens theatrically in the U.S., in limited release. It will open wide two days later and end the weekend at the No.5 of the box office, with $11.2M.
NOVEMBER 8, 2005 It is announced that Leonardo DiCaprio will star in "Blink".
Variety said:
Leonardo DiCaprio's production shingle Appian Way is busy shopping Malcolm Gladwell's bestseller "Blink" as a movie project, with DiCaprio attached to star and Stephen Gaghan onboard to adapt and helm. [...] As he did in his previous book "The Tipping Point," in "Blink" Gladwell combines vignettes about people making snap judgments in various situations to argue larger points about how people make first impressions. Gaghan's pitch is thought to include a writer character based on Gladwell and various characters out of the book, woven together into a story.
The project was picked up by Universal and continued to be developed, but DiCaprio is no longer involved.

NOVEMBER 4, 2004 It is announced that Leonardo DiCaprio will star in an untitled action thriller (aka 74 Gallons).

Leonardo DiCaprio will produce and star in an untitled action thriller focusing on the growing global phenomenon of mercenaries used by governments and companies to wage war. Scott Burns has been set to write the script. [...] Having grown increasingly involved on the political front, DiCaprio sparked to the idea of mixing a thriller element with the cautionary theme of outsourcing war.
NOVEMBER 1, 2010 It is announced that Leonardo DiCaprio is set to star in "The Devil in the White City".

[...] DiCaprio will play Dr. HH Holmes, a cunning serial killer believed to have murdered anywhere from 27 to 200 people at a time when the city of Chicago was enthralled with hosting the World's Fair of 1893.

OCTOBER 27, 1996 The "Romeo + Juliet" premiere in Los Angeles.
OCTOBER 10, 2007 It is announced that Leonardo DiCaprio will star in "Farragut North" (later to be called "The Ides of March").
Variety said:
Warner Bros. is developing a screen version of Beau Willimon’s play “Farragut North,” with Leonardo DiCaprio attached to star and George Clooney eyeing the project as director. DiCaprio’s Appian Way will produce with Clooney and Grant Heslov’s Smoke House shingle. [...] The protagonist is a young communications director who works for a fast-rising presidential candidate. During the course of the campaign, the idealistic young man falls prey to the backstabbing and other dirty trickery of seasoned rival politicos.
Leo later dropped out of the project and was replaced by Ryan Gosling. The film was released on October 7, 2011 and went on to reach a worldwide gross of $76M.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2005 It is announced that Leonardo DiCaprio will star in a biopic about Theodore Roosevelt.
Variety said:
Paramount Pictures has optioned the Pulitzer Prize-winning Edmund Morris book "The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt" and will develop it for Martin Scorsese to direct and Leonardo DiCaprio to star as the 26th U.S. president. Nicholas Meyer is writing the script. Pic will chronicle the formative years of Roosevelt as he reinvented himself from a slight and privileged New York politician with a Harvard degree to the burly commander of the Rough Riders, a track that would lead him to the New York governorship, the vice presidency and the White House, when William McKinley was assassinated.
The project saw some further development in the following years, until 2010 when Scorsese dropped out of directing.
