Converting the Monster Manual for Legend in the Mist #1 The Aarakocras

I'm converting all the monster in the D&D2024 monster manual into narrative Challenge Profiles for Legend in the Mist!

First up is the Aarakocra Skirmisher and Aeromancer, these are quite straightforward low CR fighters but they do have the unique feature of flight which I tried to work in through their regenerating flight/swoop statuses, let me know what you think. More monsters coming soon... Aboleth next!

It is in some ways perfect timing that only a month ago I was comparing Fate and Apocalypse World, and looking at their respective destinies

"Son of Oak started with City of Mist, which saw a successful Kickstarter back in 2016 and came out in 2018. City of Mist, as Aki covered in his review, is an urban fantasy game focusing on individuals with legendary power; think more Dresden Files than Urban Shadows. It was also the first time gamers had a chance to see the Mist Engine’s unique blend of Fate-derived “Aspects and Agents” gameplay tied together with the classic PbtA three-result 2d6. From there Son of Oak released a number of other games, most notably a “mythic cyberpunk” game called Metro:Otherscape. 💍 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗺! Flintlock Rings
Ring, uncommon ___ While wearing these rings on your matching thumb and forefinger, you can extend them to make a gesture of a pistol. Once per turn when you take the Attack action, you can replace one of your attacks with a special one using the rings by making this gesture, which has a range of 60 feet. Make a ranged spell attack with the rings, using a spell attack bonus of +5; if you’re proficient with pistols, you can instead use your normal attack bonus as if you were wielding a pistol. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 + 3 force damage as a bullet of magical force rockets from your fingers to strike it. If you roll the same number on the damage dice, the target is also pushed up to 5 feet away from you.
