Camera Work
is an important topic here at DDG. I know the importance of a good working cam, one that doesn't glitch or clip, or otherwise impede the player from playing at their best. That is why it is my mission to fix any camera issues. <3
Ideally, the camera will (at its worst) snap to the nearest wall if an obstacle is detected. Currently, it zooms in until it clips through the wall, which could be annoying if there were traps, obstacles, or enemies anywhere nearby.
Stay tuned.
Help wanted
Who wants to help collaborate with me and design worlds, brainstorm level mechanics, and create a fun "retro 3D" experience? Paying royalties contingent on product sales. Seeking hard working, imaginative assistants. No programming or 3D software experience necessary; use Minecraft, legos, digital or hand drawn images, or any other techniques to convey building in a 3D environment. Follow the model of 8-bit palette limitations (include the rule of 3 colors and 1 clear per texture, will send the required palette image base), expressive visuals and throwbacks to NES gaming.
Can you feel the pressure? We're caving in!
Project Retro 3D; A work in progress. NES-ified 3D gaming, 8-bit palette and minimized control. Note: some placeholder objects still have a modern palette.
Every great building needs a solid foundation, and what better foundation to have than gravity defying stone pillars?
Forest Falcon: The Album by Dickinson Digital, now $5!
Updated track "Gaius Glade (Pop Synth) now available! Support my project and help make Forest Falcon cross-platform! Forest Falcon by Dickinson Digital
After a bit of tinkering, I now have a Bandcamp page. I thought out loud "Hey, I need to do something to get my project funded." and while Kickstarter did come to mind, it is particularly inconvenient for someone as busy as I am. So instead, I'm offering my game's soundtrack before its release -- to ensure its release! ;D $7 for the album, $1 for individual tracks. If you don't buy my album or my tracks, even sharing it with others and spreading the word would be helpful.
