Welcome to Image Nation! Happy Launch Day!
The reason I’m creating these comics is to put my frustrations down on paper (Literally on paper -- every comic is hand drawn, scanned, and colored). My frustrations are with the lack of true connections we make in the modern world. Especially online, it’s so easy to hide behind a mask, to curate and outwardly project exactly what we want the world to see. So one day I thought, what if our “images” came to life?
I’m just as guilty of hiding behind an online image as anyone. I want to look successful, adventurous, carefree -- even when the complete opposite is true. Specifically, posting my artwork has always been terrifying, because it not only exposes me to an audience, it reveals some deep, hidden part of me. So I hope to embark on this journey in order to share my art, to get feedback, and to have fun -- but most of all? To conquer fear.
