marden     spends     the     first     50     years     of     their     existence     lost     without     purpose     &     attempts     to     look     for     it     by     wandering     the     earth     &     learning     as     much     about     everything     as     they     can .               they     learn     a     variety     of     different     skills     in     a     variety     of     areas     just     in     case     something     they     learn     becomes     necessary     in     the     long     run .               they     protect     any     village / town     they     come     across .

after     long     since     having     lost     count     of     leads     &     failing     to     find     answers     in     their     last     straw ,       they     officially     lose     hope     of     finding     out     why     they     were     dropped     onto     this     earth     with     the     inability     to     die     &     grow     to     resent     the     gods     &     spirits .               while     having     come     to     give     up     on     their     cosmic     purpose ,       they     still     continue     to     serve     the     people     they     come     into     contact     with     on     their     travels .               they     may     have     given     up     on     the     gods     but     they     still     believe     themselves     to     be     human     &     thus     protect     those     that     still     have     hope     of     finding     purpose          (     or     at     the     very     least     don’t     have     to     look     to     an     eternity     of     wandering     aimlessly     ) .

after     40     years     since     having     given     up ,       they     hear     of     the     ender     dragon     &     hear     rumors     that     it’s     been     coming     to     the     overworld     &     finds     a     number     of     towns     with     wreckage     &     casualties     that     seem     to     support     these     rumors .                    still     loyal     to     humanity ,       they     take     it     upon     themselves     to     find     this     dragon     &     put     an     end     to     it .               upon     laying     the     final     blow ,       the     world     around     them     fades     &     they     are     sent     into     a     realm     of     darkness ,       with     only     a     pair     of     distant     voices     that     they     can     not     quite     make     out     &     text     in     front     of     them ,       fading     in     &     out ,       transcribing     the     conversation     between     the     two     unknown     beings .               they     want     to     talk     to     them     but     find     themselves     voiceless ,       so     they     just     listen .               &     they     find     a     sort     of     peace     in     their     words .               &     when     they     awake ,       they     wake     up     not     too     far     from     the     town     they’d     left     before     facing     the     ender     dragon ,       &     they     find     a     dragon’s     egg     nearby     them  ;          this     later     grows     up     to     be     another     ender     dragon     that     marden     tames     over     the     years .               they     don’t     know     if     they’ve     retained     their     functional     immortality     or     not          (     they     have     ) ,       so     they     return     to     the     town     &     settle     down     near     there ,       in     a     place     they     can     live     &     raise     the     dragon     without     disturbing     others .
