Before I go into my analysis of Snapchat, I just want to put it out there that the purpose of this post is to encourage those who neglect using social media to think again! ♥
Snapchat has developed their method of advertising!
Their website that I’ve hyperlinked above takes a bit of effort to scroll.. So I highly recommend just watching the video alone. Marketers should know that advertising is becoming more complex! With the rapid advancements in technology and social media platforms, keeping up with trending news is only part of what we should look out for. Keeping up-to-date with the latest social media platforms and apps is highly recommended! For those who are unfamiliar with Snapchat, here’s a few features:
♦ Snapcodes on Snapchat
♦ Snapchat Geofilters
♦ Snapchat Discover Page
These are all examples of Snapchat advertising. The one mentioned in the video is hidden within the stories! They also have a live streaming feature!
The reason why I love marketing:
Essentially, my marketing advice is: start thinking above and beyond traditional means of promoting! Millennials + the younger generations to come are seriously interested in individuality. Being a marketer means trying to figure out methods that will increase the chance of making sales! So go on! Think creative!
Marketing is, in my opinion, the most artistic & creative aspect of business.
@adweek covers the statistics behind Snapchat and which companies have shifted to mobile marketing on the platform! [Here’s the article]
Despite these statistics, that doesn’t mean your business should exempt Snapchat as a potential method of promoting; but that’s for your company to decide. I mean, it is fairly expensive:
But it might be the best way to reach your intended target market!
Snapchat mainly caters to those within the ages of 13~34, which is a HUGE audience! Paying for advertising helps raise awareness of your brand/company; but tbh (to be honest), getting on social media can help increase “promotions” alone.
Snapchat is a social media platform that will help increase customer loyalty if frequently regulated. It’s pretty simple: if you want to K.I.T. (keep in touch) with your old friends, colleagues, or co-workers there has to be a certain level of effort put into reaching out. Businesses are simply relationships at a large scale.
So whether your business is well-known or not, big or small, social media can make a different. Also, please remember that patience is required! Social media is quick and consistently changing but requires time when trying to increase awareness.
