Alison didn't necessarily see Aria's mother being a tequila drinker either, but then again there were a lot of things about the Montgomerys that Alison didn't suspect but they turned out to be true. I mean her friend's father was an adulterer after all. There was bound to be more secrets that Alison wasn't aware of. Aria's father having a stash of weed in the house being one of them.
❝ Weed? Your father seriously has weed? I'm no stoner or anything, but I need to see this to believe it. ❞

Upon hearing her friend’s words, Emily reached out for the handle and opened the wooden door, meeting Alison with a smile.
”Hey. Your dad let me in.”
She spoke with a warm, friendly tone. She made her way inside, closing the door behind her.
"How are you?”

She shrugged before glancing around her room. Her eyes fell back on her friend's after she let out a sigh.

“Ali?”
Emily called from the outside of Alison’s room, giving a slight knock on the door. She was sure to make herself known; the last thing she wanted to do was alarm the blonde.
She was in her usual position when she heard her friend outside her door. Her head rested on a pillow, with her blonde hair sprawled around it and her body was burrowed in her pink duvet. Alison had made no plans of moving until she heard Emily. As she was slowly sitting up, she called out to her friend.
❝ You can come in! ❞
"Tell me ‘bout it." he said with a sigh, sitting on his porch, looking up at her. His family lived down the block from the DiLaurentis’ for years and since they were involved in the mafia, his family also had their fair share of tragic losses. He was still stunned by the fact that Alison was very much alive and even more so that she was coming to his porch. Before she went missing, once in a while she’d come by and just talk with him, but seeing her again was the last thing he expected. "While you were…gone, my oldest brother Frankie got shot." he said, pressing his lips together as he looked down. "And ya’ know me and him…me and him were like two peas in a fucking pod." he said with a light chuckle, looking out at his front lawn were they used to play catch. "Everyone wanted me to cry, to completely break down. They all told me it was okay to. Some people tried to make me. They tried to hug it out of me every time they saw my eyes water or my lips tremble." he said, shaking his head. "But the people in town, the press, kids at school, they wanted to see me destroyed, to see me weak. And I just didn’t let them."
❝ Oh god. That's awful, I'm so sorry. ❞
Alison's father must have forgotten to mention the tragedy that had taken place while she was gone. She was surprised she didn't hear of it on a television in some bar or read of the story on a magazine or newspaper. Looking down, she tucked a stray strand of hair behind her ear, thinking back to her mother's funeral that had taken place earlier that day.
❝ The press is the worst. They want to turn your tears and grief into a story so they can get big. They don't really care about how you feel. ❞

She beams, a genuine and uncontrollable sort of laughter coloring her cheeks a rosy shade of pink. A vision of life.
❝ There’s nothing better than a good whodunit. Especially when the reveal is actually surprising.

Her friend's laughter was contagious and Alison began laughing shortly after Aria did. To get a genuine laugh out of Alison was rare when it wasn't a result of witnessing another's misfortune.
She lightly tapped a manicured finger against her chin, pondering their options at hand.
❝ Hmmm, go with tequila. Your dad doesn't look like much of a tequila drinker anyways. ❞
