In regards to the acolights bragging in FRD- I do not really recall seeing those type of posts? Perhaps I may have not seen them, as I was too busy during the conquest push and was very tired afterwards. I definitely remember a lot of posts cheering the flight we were conquesting against, as well as thank you posts. Some acolights were also planning to gift bomb them.
The only incident I remembered was where a non exalt Light user posted in Dom Watch for PvE before, and were spreading drama.. I had never seen that user before, and I especially have not seen them participate in dominance stuff before either, not even for boarding dragons.
... Their account looks inactive as heck at this time coincidentally enough.
But I also do see some people making stray "git gud" posts on DR comments... and I actually do not recall any of them actually being active during conquest pushes tbh. Heck, I just checked right now and they have never even posted in the Light dom forums or is a part of the Light pinglist. I don't think they are even in Light Discord or Slack, either. If comments like that was caught somewhere on FR, it would be approached on as quickly as possible if it is seen.
Generally speaking, Light's dom community tries to be helpful and supportive as possible towards both fellow acolights and OOF people, it is not uncommon for acolights to come and want to help and be supportive of others in regards to dom activities, or even encouraging cheerful images, .gifs, or to help... brighten... up another flight's mood during, or after a conquest push. In fact, at the end of the recent Wind vs Lightning push, there were acolights that wanted to send gift bombs to Wind people. This is all entirely with respect and the intent with wanting to see the best from the other flights during a dominance push.
The downside of being a "top" flight in dom stuff is that the bad apples become especially attracted to get more attention towards themselves. This is something Plague had dealt with in the past as well.
When Plague was considered the "top" dom flight, the perception during salt posts was that they were cocky, and just like what has been happening for a while, Plague has also had many salt posts directed towards them.
So I do understand what you are talking about anon, but at the same time, other flights have the same type of issues easily. In fact, your post actually reminds me of a bit of drama over an Arcane person that had popped up on the original DR and this DR over the same reasons: they were trash talking the rivaling flights(Wind and Shadow) in each Dom Watch thread, and had been very proud and had seemingly taken the "new dom powerhouse" in flight joke a bit too seriously after Arcane won against Shadow.
Just like you, I too had looked down on Arcane briefly over the poor attitude that person was displaying then. I had even expressed disdain in a DR comment, before clarifying what the issue was, and it was coincidentally enough similar to what you were stating here: "it's ok to be happy over a win, but help make sure fellow Arcanites don't drift too far on being civil."- it was around those lines, more or less.
But you know what? As I had made the above comment, I reflected more on Arcane and whether me feeling that way was justified.
The conclusion? No, it was not fair.
Though I am not too close with anyone in Arcane, I have encountered some good people in that flight. The Arcane dom people had worked very hard in organizing the push, and it had really shown. They had an excellent and a highly anticipated Harry Potter inspired theme that looked like a total delight, and the raffle had many great prizes. There was a lot of thought and polish in everything from Arcane in that week, and all the participating Arcane people certainly were ecstatic and drilled hard during that push. I respect them for the effort they had put in and the coordination.
So this is just how I feel imo, but it is a lot better to look at the positives more so than the negatives of a flight. If you shun an entire group of people over flight alone, then you would continue to feel negatively towards them regardless of what they do... and I think that is sad to look at it that way in retrospect, because you are setting yourself up to not enjoy your time on FR as much the more you single out an entire flight.
