One of my favorite scenes in Crooked Kingdom is when Colm Fahey comes on the scene because that’s the moment you actually realize that every single one of the crows are just kids. We read YA books of kids in impossible situations and it becomes so normalized (not that I have a problem with that!) but then an Actual Adult appears out of nowhere – someone with these kids’ best interest at heart – and it’s like?? He literally laughed at her for daring to dream of something big and bright. dan wilds has worked so fucking hard for everything she has and she came out the other side of it a nicer, more caring person. She of all people should never be taken for granted or shoved aside. It was her game. It was her chance to finally prove everyone she new wrong and wymack knew it. He was talking to dan.
