     I currently don’t have much going on-- so here’s an rp ad for Babbage! I’ll be capping it at 3, uncapped for castmates (who I currently owe and whom I’ll get to soon!) and such.

Of note, Babbage is a very smart man and a mathematician/inventor by trade. As such, if any intellectuals are interested in perhaps becoming friends with him or just chatting with him, I’d certainly be down for that! Just shoot me a message!

Another note is that, despite looking like a robot, he’s really a normal person inside. But, since he acts plenty like a robot already and is interested in actual robots, if any robot characters want to interact also feel free to shoot me a message!

“The–of steam in–blahblah steel–blahblah statue–blabbityblabbbityblah master. The steam that is blah blah steam this steam that steam steam steam blah–get off my body”

Somehow he’d set the monster off, and now it was flooding him with a weird, crazed rant he only half understood.

“Who’re you calling a muffin?!”

“You’re the muffin! Metalmouth! Pillarhead! You’re gonna be cooked! (bang) You’re gonna be steamed! (bangbANG) Melted down and made intO A SOUP POT!!!1111!!!111″

Shinano grabbed on and leaned forward until he was seeing the automaton eye-to-eye, and punched it in its face.

“O-ow! Gah, why’s your head so hard?!”

     It seems that the boy hadn’t listened at all. How frustrating! Indeed this child was lacking in both manners, and listening skills-- something the man couldn’t quite tolerate at all. Was he being properly schooled at all? Charles doubted it, if such he was enacting such tomfoolery.

Red ‘eye’ glowing bright as Shinano’s face is now visible, the man in the machine scoffs.

“As I said, you impertinent whelp, this is armor! Not my head! Really now.”

“And be that as it may, I do not appreciate you banging upon my armor like some sort of monkey in a cage! I will offer you one final warning before I commence to pry you off by force.” His red eye juts out slightly forward to look closer at Shinano. “Your fists cannot penetrate my steel. And as I mentioned before, I did not mean to attack you. And I am no monster! I am a man.”

     He sounds already quite tired in trying to convince the boy, and truthfully, he doesn’t want to force him off at all. Violence against children wasn’t something he condoned. ... Not like he planned on anything violent per say. But, his body was large, and made of metal.

Crushing the boy on accident wouldn’t go over well at all.

“So children still participate in All Hallows’ Eve, hm? I’m not surprised in the slightest. Though it’s fascinating to learn that such practices sound relatively the same as they did one hundred and thirty years ago.”

“... Thank God the dreaded hoop-rolling trend seems to have died off.”

“Taste governs food, and therefore one may calculate that tastier foods are eaten on a much higher degree than non-tasty food. The percentage of humans whom eat for the taste as opposed to those whom eat for their health is vastly skewed, which is naturally why such a precedence is true.”

“In other words-- yes. We humans enjoy these simple pleasures.”

“Nuh-uh.” 

Shinano shook his head, not that metal-mouth could see. He gave a sound thwap to the hard head of the…talking statue and crossed his legs, fingers clinging to the edge.

“I’m safer up here where you can’t see me.”

“I saw. You were trying to roast me with steam!”

Duh. Anyone could tell the monster was trying to get him into prime attacking position. It was the oldest trick in the book. Luckily, Shinano was a lot older than some of those books and knew better.

“You’d be better off giving up while you’re still ahead, Onsen Oni.”

     An echo can be heard upon getting hit-- no damage being taken, naturally.

“Onsen Oni?! How dare you, you small, insipid child. I am no oni! Nor any other sort of mythological beast in which you may compare me too, you ragamuffin!” He barks, voice mildly distorted by his metal casing. “At any rate, you are completely wrong. I do not roast people. That is but my exhaust!”

“The accumulation of steam in which is used to function this steel armor in which you so believed to be a statue is a necessity to both the use of and the various functions of this robotic body that I may administer as it’s master. The steam that is generated is the source of this machine’s power-- however-- because of the steam build-up, more often than not there is more steam created than necessary and ergo exhaustion is also highly necessary to cleanse the system of any excess by use of an automated steam exhaust system in which you so unhappily encountered during the process-- something that is not my fault but may be the direct result of fate telling you to get off my body. A feat in which you have not complied to!”

     He said all this in a single breath, not even caring if the other wasn’t listening.

“In summary, you encountered a process of my metal body that I am not fully in control of, as such, an attack was not instigated on purpose.”

     With a pause, the man inhales. Steam is exhausted yet again as he catches his breath.

“Now will you kindly leap off? I do not wish to shake you off, small child.”

“One of the sad facts concerning my mechanical armor is that the ventilation system is not built for the Summer. Proper modifications are needed.”

“Because frankly, it is like a sauna in here. This heat is killing me.”

     Exhausting warm steam from his body, the man in the armor sighs.

“E-eehhh?! Whoa–ow, ow! Hey!” Shinano nearly fell off the statue (okay, so maybe it wasn’t a statue, not anymore) when it breathed on him. 

“O-oi!” 

Instead of getting off like the voice asked, the tantou scrambled to the top of its head, clinging stubbornly to the sides with his arms and legs. His heart was still pounding as he spoke.

“Didn’t anyone teach you how to be not dead?!”

“If you don’t wanna attract attention, don’t stand in a place where you stick out!”

Ahem. An 8′2″ giant was kinda hard to miss.

     A semi-audible grumble could be heard reverberating from within the armor for one moment, before the red ‘eye’ on the armor’s ‘face’ extended out-- in an attempt to see whoever it was that was on top of his head. It seemed his calculations were correct, however-- it was a child.

Not like that was a good enough excuse for him!

“Stick out? I’m afraid I stick out nearby by existing, boy,” Babbage responded with a curt reply, obviously frustrated. “And now you’ve scrambled onto my helmet! Goodness gracious. Whoever raises you needs to be much stricter.”

     It was no use, he could barely get a good look at the child. As such, his eye receded back in to his armor. Steam yet again exhausted from the man’s body-- albeit Shinano was safe from it.

“Get down from there, then! You’re going to hurt yourself.”

     Now, there were plenty of people here wearing armor. None were as intricate as Babbage’s, however-- or at least that’s what his pride told him. But he was always curious. This one in particular wore a set of gear certainly more advanced than any he had seen, and it was quite interesting. So, with heavy footsteps, he approached the other-- steam bursting from his mechanical armor.

“I say, dear girl! Hold one moment,” the man spoke, voice with a slight mechanical distortion to it. “That armor of yours, what is it made of? It’s quite fascinating.”

“It’s certainly nothing from my time-- is it modern? Or perhaps beyond modern? More often than not I’ve seen armor that sword-wielding knights wear here, but this is the first I’ve seen something like yours, indeed.”

     Although his appearance was frightening, his voice was friendly enough.

     Naturally, as a Servant, he supposed he stuck out a bit. Solely because of this armor, really-- he was quite a plain man otherwise. But, it was something the man wore with pride. Even if it did hamper his mobility and for the ability for him to enter most all buildings. ... If he could go in to spiritual form, that’d certainly solve things-- but, unfortunately, he was stuck like this.

That said, it made things difficult in times like these, when he specifically wanted something from the nearby grocery store-- but was unable to enter due to his height. It was only until another Heroic Spirit passed by that the man decided to speak up, not trusting the mob of common folk.

Surely one Heroic Spirit was more likely to help another than some random person.

“You there! Bowman,” Babbage speaks-- a few dollars in his large, claw-like, metallic hands. “I’d like to make a request of you. Can you enter this building and purchase me some of this curry, here? The sign says it’s half off! Here, I’ve got the right amount of dosh-- er, dollars-- necessary I believe. Take it.”

     It’s been approximately one hour since the large and steam robot-looking man in armor crashed through the wall of one of the many greeting rooms to returning citizens, more than likely alerting whoever was in the area at the time. 

It didn’t concern him all that much, though.

“Interesting. It seems there have been great changes since the last time I’ve arrived. Destruction of city property is greater than what I last recalled by a debatable sixty percent. I must have missed a disaster of sorts.”

“Can anyone tell me what month it is?”

     Blowing out steam through his mechanical bowtie, he asked people around him in general-- accidentally frightening a few NPCs from his warm exhaust.

     Being treated like a plaything was of no surprise to Charles. After all-- he was quite huge, and didn’t exactly look like he was ‘alive’ per say. Especially when he wasn’t currently moving. As such, while busy parsing his thoughts and analyzing this familiar situation, he had barely noticed someone had started to scale his being-- making their way pretty high up onto his armor.

Of course, he wasn’t that dull. It didn’t take him that long to notice.

And upon doing so, a great gust of warm steam emitted through the man’s armor.

“Ahem! What are you are doing? Please desist from climbing on me.”

“Didn’t anyone teach you manners?”

     ... He couldn’t quite see who or what was climbing on him from this angle, however. Logically, however, it had to be a child.

     -- It seems, somehow, something had gone awry.

Normally when being thrust through time-- that is, leyshifting-- one would travel to their intended destination. His particular destination had been ‘Singularity F’, which had been once known as Fuyuki City before becoming the flaming ruins Caster was used to seeing.

But this place... was not on fire. The city was not in ruins. And the sky, which had been plagued by ominous, black clouds, was now a pristine blue. Where was he? And where was his Master? ‘How bothersome,’ the armor-clad man thought.

Unknown to him, he had been thrust upon a Holy Grail War that did not concern him, nor need him. But-- for the time-- he was stuck here. As such... the large mass of metal began to casually shamble through the streets of Fuyuki, emitting steam as he did so.

Surely he could at least find someone who knew where he was!

     Being able to summon multiple incarnations of the same Heroic Spirit was something that had perplexed the mathematician for some time. And this aberration of a spirit-- whose summoning had been so faulty that it made the Lancer to be of little use-- was one such curiosity.

Vlad Tepes, the impaler. He who had been demonized in modern times as being a creatures known as a ‘vampire’... he held this unique trait of being summoned as both Lancer, and Berserker-- with variations to his form and appearance depending on the summoning.

He changed more than that blue-haired Irishman and his alternate selves had, anyways.

“Ah, there you are, Lancer. I had been looking for you.”

     It wasn’t until one of his few creations-- the ‘Helter Skelters’ as his Master had called them back in London-- spotted the wandering Servant that Babbage had gone out to find him.

“You’re not doing anything, yes? If not, I’d like a moment of your time.”

Welcome Indie RPers!

I’m normally an affiliated RPer, but I thought it might be fun dipping my feet in to the indie-scene a bit. And only a few of you have followed me back so far, but…

If you’d like to rp, feel free to like this and I can write you a starter! Or you can message me and we can plot something. Setting/plot-wise, my Babbage will be FGO-based, so he’ll be in Chaldea!
