Dimitri struck a match, holding the flickering flame to the end of the cigarette hanging from his mouth to light it. He stood near the remains of what had been the cinema, the smouldering had since stopped but the faint smell of smoke lingered.
Roxy opened her door and her eyes widened at the state of Dimitri. “You don’t look fine.”
"Just a scratch." He shrugged, walking passed her.
"Panic spreads as quickly as fire."
"Rome. We are from Rome…"
She spoke quietly, reminding how much she middes home and how badly she didn’t want to be there, at all. How much she wanted to leave, but wanted him to come along.
"Felicity and Dante— Mom and dad, they are from here and then," she gestured with her hands, shrugging. "Dragged us along."
Italian, that must have been the hint of an accent he was hearing. He nodded his head, from what he'd seen over the past few weeks it seemed a strange place for any parent to bring their children to.
"Must be quite different." He guessed, he'd never been to Rome.
"First a parade, completely out of context. God, have they ever seen one in their lives? Now… this…"
Her words trailed off, seeing the man walking out of the distressed crowd, making her wonder if her nervous talking had made him ed up already.
Until she heard his words and she so wisely followed him (at least she was reasonable enough to do this.), placing herself beside him, quietly, for a moment.
"That was a pretty place, I liked it."
He was surprised by her decision to follow him, they were as good as strangers after all. He supposed it was easier to put minor trust in someone showing their face on a night where everyone dawned a mask.
"You are not from around here?" He backtracked, referring to her comment about brits.
"I should have stayed at home."
Text / Roxy.
Roxy: Ringing? Explosion? Are people hurt?
Roxy: Are you coming here?
Dimitri: I would think so.
Dimitri: I doubt anyone inside there will be walking out.
Dimitri: Yes.
Text / Roxy.
Roxy: Are you okay? I'll come out there.
Dimitri: I am fine, my ears are ringing somewhat.
Dimitri: Stay where you are.
She nodded slowly, only then realizing he probably expected a proper reply from her. Cleaning her throat, she glanced at the man beside him, remembering of seeing him at The Sheep a couple or more times.
The digusting taste was on her mouth already, the smell making her wrinkle her nose.
"I guess they took the term ‘fire work’ separatedly and in a whole new level." She let out a shaky breath, itching to know where her brother was. "Those english people are goddamn crazy."
"That is very true."
If this poor excuse for a holiday wasn't strange enough to him, this added a whole new layer of bizarre to it. He had no doubt it was gang related, ever since he'd gotten here it had been impossible to miss the tension between the two sides.
Seemed to him like it finally reached fever pitch.
Dimitri walked a short distance from her, a nod of his head indicating for her to follow if she wished to do so.
"Before you end up trampled."

Roxy: Yes, I am safe.
Roxy: Why? What's going on?
Dimitri: The old cinema is on fire.
You had the chance to be something good for this club. Something your old man always wanted. But you turned into everything he hated. You became the poison, the reason he checked out.

Dimitri: Safe?
She stopped in the middle of the way, people bumping into her shoulder, mouth hanging slightly open. Renee couldn’t believe what she was seeing, couldn’t even phantom what caused that.
His fist wound back and connected with a strangers jaw, knocking him clean out after he'd knocked into Dimitri for the second time in a matter of minutes. A riot was one thing, blind incessant panic was another.
He flexed his hand a moment, glad the display seemed to have at least warned those scrambling around him to steer clear of him.
"I imagine that was not part of the celebrations." Dimitri deadpanned to the girl to his left, indicating to the building that was currently being engulfed in flames.
"For the third time, I don't know." Dimitri said flatly, never one for guessing games or trying to figure what someone was dressed as.
"Hypocritical coming from you."
"Accurate. What has annoyed you today?"
Roxy let him inspect her head for a second before carefully moving her head out of his grasp, shuffling back. On the list of people that Roxy allowed to get this close, Dmitri was close behind Michelle but given circumstances, Roxy knew better than to let him get closer.
"It just needs some love."
Her words were almost lost on him as Dimitri watched her, gaze as good as glued to her. He can't recall ever having her recoil from him in such a way.
"Have I crossed a line?"
"Maybe I’m the one with one of those faces."
"Perhaps." Dimitri indulged, though there was rarely a path he crossed that he forgot. They usually ended up prosperous or taken care of.
"Inform me if you figure it out."
