Daniela’s Soccer Portraits
Today I had the privilege of photographing Daniela, a friend I met on Twitter. Now, as you all know, I’m more of senior/graduation photographer, so this session was especially important to me because I got to step out of my comfort zone and shoot something that was very different---Soccer. I have attempted to do sports photography and well, here is my second attempt. I hope you all enjoy them!

When I first started taking pictures, I was not so skilled. In the course of my years, I would say I have improved and part of the reason that I have is because I have had the best models who have been so patient with me and have allowed me to capture such sweet memories for them.
Today’s session was actually very fun. I was worried that it was going to rain but since it is Houston you never know what to expect (it was 88 degrees!) I hope you all enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them.

It was such a sweet gesture and it only reminds me why I love what I do—because I get to remember these memories. Congrats James and Amber!

Joey and I saw her from a distance. “Work it girl!!!” Joey shouted as she was getting her photos taken. We asked if we could get a photo with her. When asked why she was getting her portraits taken she informed us that they were her 23rd birthday portraits. After wishing her an early birthday, we proceeded to get photos with her. I wish we would have asked her for her name.

We met Sherry that day. She was getting family portraits taken of her and her family. They were such a beautifuk family. I wish I would have got a photo of them. She was very sweet and even made us laugh when she said “HEY! we are both wearing gray! We are matching!”

Have you ever been occupied doing something and BAM! A great idea hits you? Well, I had one of those moments today. I want to introduce something new to my blog. My blog basically consists of my favorite photos from a photo shoot but what I would like to start doing is a “Humans of New York” styled thing. Whenever I go around the city to take photos of others, I somehow end up asking other Houstonians to tag along in the photos. I’m thinking what I will do is include their photo, name, and maybe a little fun fact (of course with the persons permission) But how great would that be? Houston is a large city with diverse people and I would love to include them on here. I’m thinking for now, it won’t be a huge focus, but it will be something featured.

When does Joey not appear on my blog? He is my best friend and we take on different adventures together. This time he brought his friend Ania with us. Both of them have many things in common. What you will find is that they are both model material. Seriously! Look at their fierce faces. They remind me why it is that I stay behind the lens. Nonetheless, we had a fun day. Houston’s bipolar weather did not stop us from getting some great shots. Take a look and let me know what you guys think!

Though I am clueless about sports, there might be one thing about it that I like---photography. I have always been focused on portraits and special events when it comes to photography and I purposely tried to stay away from sports because well, it's not the easiest thing to take a photo of. However, I stepped out of my comfort zone and attended my school's football game and might I say I am extremely pleased with the results. Abstract Unexpectancies ft. Karla
Hello again! It didn't take me very long to come up with a title for this session because what is photographed above is very abstract and unexpected. Let me give you a little background information. Karla, the girl in the aqua shirt, is my cousin. She is like my sister. I love her so much. Alas, she has decided to depart with the army and she will be transferred to Missouri. And no, I'm not talking about Missouri City that is at most a 30 minute drive for most. I am talking about a whole 'nother state. THAT'S 750 MILES AWAY! When I heard these news, I was heartbroken because Karla is the only person I cry to, care for, find comfort in, have fun with, laugh with, explore with, and more. After expressing my emotions to others, the first thing I heard is "You're selfish." I didn't understand what made me selfish considering the fact that I just wanted her to stay but, it hit me. By wanting her to stay and keeping her away from her dream of joining the army, I was being extremely selfish. Life is an adventure. It can be explored in various ways and, if she chooses to explore life by joining the army, she most certainly can. That being said, I decided to take her on a little adventure today. Karla is always stuck at home so, I knew she would enjoy this. First we went to Tout Suite, a nice café on the outskirts of Downtown Houston. Following, we went in search for some murals I had looked up online. If you live in Houston, then you know how awful some of the drivers are and you know especially how hard it is to drive in Downtown. Surprisingly, I survived with no dents in my car. (THANK YOU JESUS) Anyway, I was just driving around in search for the mural of a marine soldier. No Karla is not going to be apart of the Marine's but it was close enough right? I literally crossed the freeway so I could exit Downtown, park, and try to find out where I was going. Once I parked, I looked up and you would not believe it but voila! the mural was right in front of us (and even some) This is why I consider it unexpected. I was in search looking for something and upon getting lost, I found it. This may now explain my tweet from earlier. Well, we found the murals and pulled my camera out and took quick photos. I really love this place because of all the artwork. There was way more that I didn't capture but, I do recommend going. With all of this, I just hope Karla enjoyed exploring H-Town with me. And I hope you all enjoyed the images of only a little of the many that my beautiful city has to offer.

And here is the last place we visited. It was a fun experience. I even met a fellow photographer who traveled all the way from Bosnia just to create a timelaspe of Houston. If you notice, he was kind enough to take a photo of us all so I could be part of the photo.

Haley, a school friend, sent me a direct message and asked if I could snap a couple of photos as part of a going away gift for their foreign exchange friend. Carolina, their polish friend, will be very much missed and we are glad she got to spend her last day in Houston visiting some of the best places in the city (’cause seriously, there is so much beauty in Houston)
Needless to say, Laura, Haley, Karolina, John and Logan were so fun to photograph. They truly are friendship goals.

ADVENTURE.
Today my boyfriend, little sister, and I went to Memorial Park here in lovely Houston. After 17 years of living in Houston, I had never gone so, this was something so cheerful.
One thing I mentioned to my little sister is how sometimes, as a photographer, it is hard to get a nice photo of myself. I also mentioned how I am not the selfie queen (hint hint the top photo) Still, I think it is important to capture any kind of memory so, I took a selfie and photographed Edward and my little sister. Crystal, my little sister, even caught my dear giving me a smooch. During the course of our hike, I kept asking Edward to stop and smile for a photo and for some reason he didn’t want to show off his pearly whites so, Crystal made him. Then, as we continued the path, I saw a post where someone wrote “GOD BLESS.” It was too sweet for me not to take a photo. The hike was a success( at least for me because Edward and Crystal fell while racing me.) These are the moment I want to remember. These are the reasons I love photography.
