This is why Dino Iles is the Gandolf of bodybuilding. It's guy's like Dino, who are 1 in a million, that make me proud to be a hardcore bodybuilder. Everyone wants things to be pretty, and all the corporate gyms want everything to match and look good. I'll take a gym like Dino's every day of the week because it's INSPIRING to walk in the doors. You can look at the wall of fame, and the worn down carpet, and the rust. You can smell the hard work, suffering, and victory in the air. A gym built with the sweat of champions. You don't have to be "quiet". You don't have to dress a certain way. You don't have to be anything but willing to work so hard you find your own limits. You pass out? You puke? You break something? Well it's okay because shit happens when people are truly pushing themselves to the limit. It was the perfect place for the first episode of MUTANT ON A MISSION, and I wish that everyone who loves bodybuilding could train there even once just to see and feel the history. Thanx @rep300 , You know this is your second home, & the kettle is always on for you my brother 💙. Great to be back at DINO'S GYM! Went in late for a chest/delt workout and @dinosgymtv kept the place open late for @victornunez56 and I. Had to wear my Dino's shirt so Dino and I could get a pic. His gym reminds me of why I train. It's hard-core, it's old-school, and everything is heavy. The 120 pound dumbbells feel like 130s, the frames on all the old machines weigh more than at your common health club. I remember seeing an interview with Jack White the musician, and he said he loved old guitars because they were harder to play. He needed it to be a struggle. I guess that's how I feel about training. I want things to be harder. Iron plates that make noise and feel heavy. Lots of hard basic exercises. People all around you making noise and givin'er. Loud ACDC and Ramones...like I'm a kid again mucking about with the iron. You know you still love it when you get butterflies in your stomach before a regular workout. No PR's today, just straight off a long flight into the gym for a solid session.
