Mortasheen is a monster-collecting setting I've developed for over twenty years, it has been in development as a tabletop roleplaying game for over fifteen years, and I have spent more than the last five years laboring on this first book alone. Expanding and co-managing a new tabletop gaming "brand" out of this setting is MY SOLE CAREER PROSPECT and potentially my entire new livelihood for the foreseeable future. This is literally now more than half my life's work.

Includes all rules and mechanics for running a campaign or playing in one, player biotypes, NPC's, locations, gadgets, lairs, setting culture, ecology, unique original battle system, story hooks, a secret antagonist faction for more epic life-or-death adventures and a modular ability system for modifying and creating any conceivable monster, object or phenomenon. All 177 monsters in the bestiary include detailed biology and characterization.

Softcover $60, Hardcover $70-80 (more on etsy to offset their fees) digital pdf download $40 so we have enough to split with the gameplay devs. Books ordered during this first run will most likely arrive December within the USA, while international shipping from this country is currently undergoing unpredictable chaos.
Backers of the original kickstarter should still receive their books first, and many already have! Over half are yet to finish printing, but we're getting there.

At the link above is a 45 page condensed PDF sample of the upcoming 300+ page Mortasheen TTRPG Core Rulebook. This condensed sample contains just the following:
-The Biotypes (player races)
-The College of Genetics location and its Dean
-The Runoff, a sample adventure locale in Mortasheen City
-An explanation of the "Green Goo" that Mortasheen runs on
-24 monster pages, some of them still never before seen by anyone but the original Kickstarter backers, from a planned final count of 152 monsters.
No gameplay instructions, but monster pages retain their statblocks for you to look at.

Any money from this zine-sized digital preview will go partially into everyday survival and partially into improving the print quality of the final book. Its kickstarter print budget is still with me, but only covers a just-average quality for the book's first run! There are still better paper weights and color options to consider! After that print run finishes and ships out to all 2020 backers, that final book will go up for public purchase, maybe by the end of this year (2024) if everything works out.

Kickstart backers can still expect a book announcement very soon, but it likely won't be available for general public purchase until sometimes in 2025. Fortunately 2025 is only in eight weeks, but we can't say when we'll be able to sell the final product to everybody who wants it.
