ROGERS WATERS - “PIGS (Three Different Ones)” (Animals - 1977)
Rehearsal at The Meadowlands, NJ on May 21, 2017
ProgTracks Note: ProgTracks is apolitical. So consider this a history lesson.
Why is “Animals” a masterpiece of Progressive Rock? Because it’s still as relevant as it was when released 40 years ago.
Put on your ‘big-boy pants’ and watch this, people. You may or may not agree with the message Roger Waters sends, but for those of you too young to remember… THIS IS ROCK AND ROLL !!!
Irreverent. Unapologetic. Unafraid. In Your Face.
Over the past 40 years, Rock and Roll has gradually lost its edge… and therefore its relevance. This time in history needs more of this from Rock and Roll artists, if the genre is to survive. Thanks for stepping up, Roger!
Another ProgTracks Note: This is a music blog. But, if you still think I’m being political and feel the urge to send me hate messages… please refer to the first ProgTracks Note above until you calm down, learn the history lesson, and realize what I’m really trying to convey here.
The Musician: Roger Waters - bass, vocals
(dionisiusantory)
This is the most perfect thing. Please watch it… It’s very important. It’s only 15 seconds long. You can spare that, I’m sure.

“…handheld device integration with pedals, allowing you to tweak settings from your iPhone or what not. This seems weird and counter intuitive. I thought the whole point was simplicity with pedals? Anyhow the pedal business seems to be pulling in two directions: 1) toward the analog “vintage” stone ages or 2) interconnected device utopia.“

"I regard the theatre as the greatest of all art forms, the most immediate way in which a human being can share with another the sense of what it is to be a human being." - Thornton Wilder. / The end of my 9 artsy chapter of the journey. #ramayana #prambanan #kickdatfaceyo
This gem is originally recorded in 1970 where prog giants such as Dark Side of the Moon (Pink Floyd), Thick as a Brick (Jethro Tull), Selling England by the Pound (Genesis), Tarkus (ELP), Close to the Edge (Yes), etc. were not even released yet. Sharkmove's Ghede Chokras is claimed to be the first Indonesian indie album, where there no interference whatsoever from "labels", which makes it so artistic with local and prog touches all over. Recording, distribution and design were done all by themselves. This is 2014 version of it. It is released by Rockpod Records and limited to 150 copies worldwide. On one of the world's best online recordstore, this gem is sold over €75.00, which is over three times the money I spent here in a small recordstore in Jogja. I am so psyched about this record! #sharkmove #vinyligclub #rock #music
