x100 15MM Transparent Cabochon Glass Domes

Some folks wanted to know where I got my cabochons used for my furby’s eye chips- here you go! Here’s some things to keep in mind:

~ These fit in about 4/5 normal sized 1998 furbies I’ve used them on. About 1/5 have eye sockets that are slightly too small to fit these, for whatever reason. 

~ You insert them by pressing them in very firmly, and usually they snap right in without needing glue. For the furbies whose eye chips use paper for their coloring, I didn’t need to glue the paper to anything- I just put the cut out paper circle in the eye socket then pressed the cabochon firmly on top of it until it clicked.

~ I’m not associated with this guy but I WILL say his shipping was extremely fast, and he has loads of other jewelry supplies for sale that could be very useful in making your furby look pretty

Pt 2 on baby’s first doll customization!

After the face up, I got to work on her hair

I brushed it out and most of it was this really weird texture that washing it and soaking in fabric softener didn’t fix. Had to cut off like half of her hair 😔

Gave her a lil Bob and wrapped her up to set it bc I don’t have a straightener

Maki the Sushi Furby 🍣🍣

My newest custom.

He was a sheep baby furby. As soon as I saw this furby I knew exactly what I wanted to do.

I posted before about painting Cleo’s bandages gold and I decided to experiment a little.

Previously, I’d just slapped the gold paint on top of the arm and called it a day.

Like so.

For the leg though, I decided to try out a speedpainting method people in the painting miniatures communities use called the Slapchop method.

It consists of painting the object your working on in a dark color, then dry brushing in a light color and finally adding the Color you want on top.

So! I first painted Cleo’s leg in metallic black:

After it dried, I dry brushed her leg with a pearlish color until it looked like this:

After waiting for it dry again, I finally added the gold and this is the result:

It really does make the creases and folds of the bandages pop so much!

Here’s a comparison between the arm I painted with just the gold paint:

And here’s the leg I did using the Slapchop method:

It makes it look as if her bandages are molded out of aged gold!

I think I should have maybe used a slightly lighter color as my base to make the shading slightly less harsh. Like, metallic brown instead of black. I still really liked how it came out, though.

I might go over this with a coat of slightly warmer gold but idk! What do you guys think?

I've noticed that so many people think that Furbys have just now been confirmed to be non-binary so I wanted to let y'all know that it's actually been canon since the 1st era (original 1998 Furbys)!

(idk exactly where this image comes from but it has to be from one of the manuals I just couldn't find which one, I got the image itself from the Official Furby Wiki btw)
