Lucio = The Fool
This isnāt so much a theory as it is me simply pointing out some things. Perhaps itās common knowledge at this point, I donāt know- however!
The scene that confirms this fact is in the secret banquet hall, when MC is pulled into Lucioās chair in in Asraās route.
The card in front of Lucioās plate is the fool, not the devil. From this caption, the text goes on to describe both the upright and reversed traits associated with the card, with the reversed standing as a reflection of Lucio. Although MC is also associated with the fool, I think itās important to remember that we are inhabiting a body that was meant to go to Lucio himself. Thatās ultimately the reason MC was drawn into the seat.
Another dead ringer to me is the fact that in our dear late Countās bio, his favorite flower is listed as a white rose.
White roses are related to the fools card because in most tarot decks, the fool is seen holding one as he prances off the ledge of a cliff.
Also, the Fool is almost always accompanied by a little white dog,
which would also harken to the fact that Lucio has a fondness for white animals, or even most specifically Mercedes and Melchior.
Speaking of dogs, an interesting little detail I noticed was that all of the arcana associated with the main characters of the plot have the same eye color as their corresponding human.
Asra/The Magician= Purple
Nadia/High Priestess = Red
Julian/Hanged Man= Murkey Grey
Portia/The Star = Blue
Muriel /The Hermit = Green
and Lucio/Scout = White
Then there is the scene where heās speaking to Vlastomil in the Southern mountains. Vlastomil says something along the lines of āonly a fool would give somebody their true name,ā to which baby Montag replies
Anyway, Lucio represents the Fool, not the Devil.
