Fall is so gay
Why can’t it be Fall all year round? Is that too much ask? Look at all the variety of wavelengths :)

Night at the Geology department.
Place like this where you just want to spend all your time thinking/imagining whilst forgetting about the present and the workings of the corrupted world.
everyday that i am not living in a cottage in the woods is another day wasted
^ Couldn’t have said it better myself.

The current state of this world is preposterous. Even with all the wisdom that we’ve accumulated over the years, we still don’t want to get better. Maybe humans deserve the coming apocalypse. Most of the human population should perish to teach, the ones who’re left, a lesson for a lifetime. Does this make me sound like a madman? Well, include me in the group people who’re to perish. Wait! This just makes me sound like a true madman on a suicide mission. Anyway, you get the idea. The main reason for all the chaos generally can be summed up in one quote by Edward O. Wilson: “The real problem of humanity is the following: We’ve Paleolithic emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology.” I’ve started hating the world I’m living in and this marks my descent into madness. Let’s hope this madness leans towards the better side of me and I keep doing what I love, i.e., acquiring knowledge which, I’ve come to agree upon, is one of the most pleasurable and meaningful activities of human life.
I know the time on the analog clock is not synchronised with the real time. The battery had run its course.
Fall’s here.
You’ll never guess what’s here.
This might trigger most of you.

Pointless Devouring.
Gone are the days when I pulled all-nighters and had so much fun whilst everyone else succumbed to a steady boring state called sleep (I slept in the daytime so, not complaining). I must say that waking up in the morning and dragging myself throughout the day hopelessly is just exhausting. There’s just so much activity going on during the daytime! Noises from people, their vehicles, the birds and the ever shining sun that shovels astronomical number of photons into my apartment causing nothing but chaos. This year, I’m doing what my friend has been telling me to do for a long time, i.e., be regular and normal. Reminds me of a quote by someone, “Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work”. I get that but I want to be original and violent in my work all the time but sadly I’m stuck in this mortal rotting flesh which requires me to take care of it on a daily basis. Guess that’s what I’ll have to do till someone finds a way to transfer our consciousness to something else which doesn’t require self-care (*ahem* computers *ahem*).
My handwritings are not the best but they’re quite easily readable which I always argue about with people. Also look at the way those gentlemen are judging what I’ve wrote on the whiteboard.
Norwegian vibes.
I don’t know why but chess gives me Icelandic and Norwegian vibes. I wish I was stuck there this year. My classes for the Fall semester have commenced. As I’ve literally said it in past >4 posts (blogs?) that I miss going to the library, I miss it even more now. It was also about time that I debuted this beautiful green banker’s lamp on my tumblr.
And meet Abyss Reichenbach (instagram: @AbyssReichenbach).
Notice the beautiful warm hues.
I have no idea what I'm doing but I do know I ❤️ math.
People are often surprised when they come to know that I’m pursuing theoretical physics.
They’re always like, “You must be really good at mathematics” and I’m like, “yeah no. I’m actually not!”
I just love it too much to let it go.

Late and vulnerable.
I often came back early from uni and slept till 21:00 and would go back again to study the whole night. I love being on campus after everyone leaves. Campus security came to recognize me even though there were more than 4 people doing shifts alternating every other day. At first, not going to lie, they questioned my presence but were kind enough to understand the atmosphere I liked to live in.
Theoretically, I had 8 hours to study but obviously I couldn’t. I had to be careful not to turn mad by pushing my mind beyond a certain point every night. Hence, vulnerable. Luckily, my mind’s capacity was around 3 hours back then. Currently, the number must be very low as I haven’t pulled those muscles for a long time. But as my classes will start again in a week, I’ll have to prepare myself again.
After every hour or so, I used to stroll around the campus and listen to some music and imagine myself being in some post-apocalyptic world. Oh how I will miss it this semester now that classes are online!
Blitz with rain.
Whenever I was done with all the lectures I had in a day, I used to go to the library and play blitz chess for like an hour or 2. Not with a physical person but online, with random people. I’ve been playing a lot of chess lately but this view was amazing especially with the blissful smell of books and I miss that. I’m drowning in this pool of nostalgia these days.
ARRIVAL
I recently got an opportunity to see Arrival in theatres! I saw this film back in early-2017 on my TV and I had wished to see this film on a big screen. Since June, the theatres near me are showing a number of old films. I saw The Dark Knight trilogy back to back in a single day in IMAX! I’ll see Inception in IMAX on its 10th anniversary in few days. Coming back to Arrival, I’ve seen unhealthy amount of SciFi films and this film has easily got be in the top 5 of my favourites.
I don’t want to discuss anything about this film as I intend to make this account a studyblr and not filmblr(?) because if I start, there’s no stopping me when it comes to films. But you’ve got to see this if you haven’t already. It is highly thought-provoking. The music by Jóhann Jóhannsson and Max Ricther is just mesmerizing. The colour palette. This film is a mood actually. Meant to be seen right before dawn.
PS. I don’t take pictures when I go to theatres but I’ve seen this film already a couple of times, so I wanted to capture the moment and lodge it in my memories.
Laplace and Parfait.
Oh the good old days when I could go to the campus (You’ll notice this picture is from 2019) and study!
Mathematical physics is taking a toll on me but I’m okay with it. This is how progress happens.
Calculus of variations!
Definitely not what I had in mind when I thought I’d love doing classical mechanics. Maybe quantum mechanics is my cup of tea. (Spoiler alert: It is!)
Whiteboards are remarkable!
What I’ve decided is to post pictures mostly from my university’s campus and library! Campus is closed right now due to the pandemic but I’ve ton of pictures from past 2 years.
Here’s me trying to solve a differential equation (red ink) but getting distracted into 4 other things (black ink) whilst trying not to erase any work (blue ink) of another person.
Observed C/2020 F3 (NEOWISE)!
Sorry. No pictures of the Comet itself because of me not having a good enough camera to capture it. But I did manage to get these pictures as the twilight dusked upon me.
This was my second time viewing a Comet (first being Comet Catalina in 2016 with a telescope). This one was surely visible with the naked eye unlike the previous one I mentioned.
A moment to remember.
This very well may be the only Comet we’ll see for a long time (41 years in worse-case-scenario).
I blasted the OST (of Cosmos: A SpaceTime Odyssey) from the episode where Halley and Newton’s friendship is shown.
