when they think we’re mutilating ourselves to the point that they pose as SRS doctors and literally mutilate us for their agenda. cis ppl don’t forget this
topsurgery.net is a site with lots of before + after pics categorised by surgeon. I encourage everyone with other resources on srs surgeons and their results to share them here, for mtf/mtx surgeries too please
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the doctor down the street who gives me my T shots in a clinic so small that it's just two rooms was excited for me when she said my voice had dropped yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the receptionist who could see that I was a man didn't bat an eyelash when I asked to see the gynecologist and called me sir when he asked how I wanted to pay yes, India made legal gender change impossible but the barber cuts my hair exactly how I want it and never gave me strange looks for being in a men's salon not even back when I didn't pass as one
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my friends have always gendered me correctly and stick to it even when it confuses other people and my friend's little sibling calls me older brother in Kannada yes, India made legal gender change impossible but my dog learned my new name quicker than the humans and she runs to give me a kiss when she's told to without being confused about who's being referred to
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I can feel the Adam's apple growing in my throat and my muscles getting stronger, and my smile more real and I'm growing a beard, and I talk more freely
yes, India made legal gender change impossible but I'm here, and I'm alive, and so are you and there are good people, people who care and don't let them make you forget that-- you are not alone.
i think about how being a trans woman means subjecting yourself to endless suffering. stares in public, confrontations with strangers, harassment online. at best it's a cavalcade of freaks in the comments of all your posts trying to piss you off, at worst it's doxxing and long-term "lolcowing" on sites like kiwifarms.
i think about how in spite of this most trans women try to be exceptionally kind and compassionate. many of them do this so as not to turn away allies, of course. people are predisposed to abandon or find reason to hate us, so we must always be on our best behavior, kinder than anyone could be expected to be, damn near saintly. but still, they endure.
most trans women i know have been cast out from somewhere. lost social groups, in person or online, usually both. most trans women i know have been abused, starting with their parents and continuing into friends, partners, and otherwise. most trans women i know have seen the worst parts of humanity on full display all the time.
but every trans woman i know is also kind. trying their hardest every day, wanting so badly to be decent, to be good, to be kind. in the face of such endless and unceasing hardship i am shocked to see, always, that my sisters keep a brave face and keep smiling, keep doing good, keep trying to be their best selves. and i am astonished. because i think there really is something magical abt that.
You can’t call yourself a leftist if you hate children tbh, like you can choose not to have them or be around them, but outright hating the most marginalised group of people in the world who have absolutely no power or control over the most basic parts of their lives and bodies is a dangerous mentality to have and you need to grow the fuck up and get out of your edgy phase and start treating everyone around you like human beings, even the ones that piss you off.
Like the older I get, the more empathy I have for children. Imagine living on this planet for less than a decade and having to figure out every single thing from scratch, only for the people around you to treat you like a living doll and constantly invalidate your feelings because you haven’t learned how to express them beyond screaming at the top of your lungs, like you’d be having meltdowns in the grocery store as well. The least you can do is offer them some grace, everything is so fucking confusing and scary and overwhelming and they’re not able to communicate that properly and no one around them is explaining shit, and they are constantly at the mercy of whether or not the terrifyingly giant adults around them CHOOSE to be kind like genuinely put yourself in the situation of a child and tell me you wouldn’t also be freaking the fuck out.
The way society treats children is borderline inhumane, and you have the audacity to call them hellspawn crotch-goblins for screaming a little bit too loud or daring to be in the same vicinity as you.
I do also believe that hating children is a sign of underlying ableism, because most of the justifications of hating children comes down to “they’re annoying” or “they don’t know how to act” or “they’re gross” and if you are unable to treat people who lack social skills, who make loud or repetitive noises, who are incontinent etc. with basic respect and dignity, then what’s the difference between hating children and hating disabled adults that share the traits you find so irritating?
If you’re a Non-Muslim and you see a Muslim praying in public, could you please not pass in front of them?
Go behind them, but not in front. 👍
Oh, signal boost! I didn’t know this.
Okay, but also: if you see a Muslim praying in public and they have something in front of them, like a purse or a bag or something like that, you can pass in front of them, but pass in front of that object.
it’s called a sutrah, and it’s meant to act as a physical barrier between the person praying and someone who might happen to pass in front.
Also, if you did this and didn’t know, please don’t beat yourself up over it. Now you know! Muslims aren’t supposed to pass in front of Muslims praying, either, because prayer is communication with God and you don’t want to break that connection.
Spread culture, respect customs, be good people. Simple as that.
Didn’t know this.

Similarly, if a Jew is saying the Shemonah Esrei prayer (whispered, moving only the mouth, standing facing east with legs together) don’t go in front unless there’s a barrier.
Reminder that tumblr keeps banning trans women's accounts for no reason and actively stated that.
Reminder that this is not about a single event, this is a repetitive pattern that happens *regardless* of if the trans women's blogs violate tumblr's guidelines or not.
Reminder that if it's only trans women calling this out, tumblr has an easier time covering it up because they just ban them.
Reminder that you've got to speak up against this bullshit now, that you've got to be loud, that you've got to support trans women because the places where they can speak are dwindling.
Reminder that pride includes trans women and you cant celebrate pride while ignoring the way trans women are getting silenced.
Reminder that we've got to help each other. It's pride month. Transphobes keep getting platformed and able to keep saying every hateful stuff they want. Help the community any way you can. Be loudly supportive to trans women and loudly against this discriminatory moderation
Hi Apple users, Apple released a fun thing where they take your photos and Siri transcripts and use them to train AI! And they may be automatically turned on without your knowledge, because oh boy they sure were for me!!!!!!!!!!!!
Open the “apps” section in your settings (it’s usually at the very bottom), go to photos and scroll until you see “Enhanced Visual Search” and then turn that shit off. Then go to “Privacy and Security”, scroll until you see “Analytics & Improvements”, and turn off “Improve Siri & Dictation” as well.
I am an artist with hundreds upon hundreds of my artworks in my photo album. I also have plenty of photos with not only my own face, but the faces of my friends and my family. I do not appreciate that being used to train AI without my consent, and I’m pretty sure it’s the same for others too.
I’m so tired of big companies.
EDIT: I made a mistake this feature isn’t used to train AI, but it does still take your photos to be analyzed by AI. This is a feature that was automatically turned on without notice, giving nobody the option to turn it off or on until they find it themselves.
The tolerance paradox is solved if you consider the social contract fascists break

Kill nazis
While i completely understand why the reblog I saw this from, a blog about fish, tagged it this way-
This is very funny and correct and could be a very cool punk badge. Kill Nazis, not fish.
images: two tweets by stand-up comedian Benny Feldman.
the first picture shows a tweet:
"Don't police comedy" Well. I'm not going to arrest anyone. I'm not even trying to cancel anyone in the 2010s sense of having them lose their job. My goal for comedians who make regressive jokes is for them to change their minds. And for everyone to understand why jokes matter.
the second picture shows a quote retweet. twitter user ChoppedBeef says:
"All I want is for everyone to agree with me"
to which Benny Feldman's response is:
I would like everyone to be not racist instead of racist, yes
end image descriptions.
benny feldman's the man who gave us 'it's just a joke dude. and the joke is just rooted in ideas. that i'm enforcing' and also 'it's just a joke dude. it's just one of the most digestible and powerful forms of persuasive rhetoric my guy'. he posts a lot of his one-liner sets online. he's a very good person to check on occasionally if you're interested in the philosophy of humour.
The problem with so many of these regressive, right-wing people is they view social censure as equivalent to an attack on them, personally.
If you say shit that's mean or racist or transphobic, some people will not like you! Some people may, in fact call you an asshole.
Freedom of speech is not freedom from social and economic consequences! Somebody calling you a dick and refusing to give you money is not the same as throwing you in a gulag.
You are not owed an audience and you are not owed access to people.
hey does anyone know if we have to keep going today?
fuck. alright, fine. guess i'll keep going then 🙄
shit, really? i'll let the girls know.
*leans out the door to shout to my team* HEY NEW ORDERS FROM THE TOP. *excited/flustered noises from a gaggle of tgirl construction workers*
NO NOT THAT KIND OF TOP
I'm not mourning my teenage years because i falsely believe all girls have a magical adolescence I'm fucking mourning it because i didn't get to be a real person. I'm really fucking glad you can talk about how being a teenager wasn't perfect, i didn't exist.
