Meet ZADKIEL 'Z' SELMY, he is TWENTY-SIX years old and is a LAWYER in Jupiter. Z is sometimes confused as SEBASTIAN STAN and he is unfortunately CLOSED.
WE ALL HAVE A STORY, THIS IS Z'S.
Zadkiel was the first born son of Eliza and Andrew Selmy, and acted and was treated as such. He was the apple of their eye and the heir to their name, even though the Selmy’s had little to their name other that their father’s physician shop, which was at the time, just that: little. It was more than enough to support the three of them, though. When the family got pregnant again, Z was three, and he did not want a little brother. It seemed that each child they had, their fortune grew. When Raziel was born, his father had the opportunity to buy a larger site, and when Artemis was born, even add-ons. Each time it looked like they were going to fall under, something miraculous happened for his father at work, and Z’s mother never worked a day in her life. By the time Samael was born, Z was 12, and their father was the major physician in Jupiter.
Despite that at a young age, he did not want siblings, Z grew a fierce protectiveness over his younger siblings, but it was dwarfed by his admiration for his parents. He lived his life for them, came home from school each day with great grades, went above and beyond what was expected to keep his place at the center of their world, and such wasn’t hard for him. Everything came so easy to him. With his good looks, intelligence and determination, he could have taken over the world, but he did not. When it came time to graduate, he applied for Harvard Law School, and got in. Ecstatic, he revealed this news to his parents, who in turn told him he would not be attending. They needed him at home. Of course, he didn’t listen, and he went to Harvard instead, refusing to pass up the opportunity. Though they were angry for a while, his parents came to accept why they had to leave, especially in a couple years when Raziel replaced him as their favorite, staying right at home in Jupiter as a police officer.
Zadkiel had never even dreamt leaving Jupiter, so moving north was an incredible experience for him, majoring in defense law, he began his life there. He met a girl, named Seraphine, who worked at the library near the college. She was not as well off as Z, and took advantage of that, dating him even though she didn’t like him at all. She found him to be a total pushover and a people pleaser, and weak. She didn’t tell him this of course, and he fell in love with her. The two got engaged in Z’s last year of school, her plan was to live in luxury until she couldn’t stand him, then take his money. He caught her cheating on him before that, though, actually caught her, in their bed. The pain hurt him like no other, and she had to pay for it. He kicked her out of his house, got drunk and in time found his way to her lover’s house, where she was staying. In his drunken rage, he killed them both, disposed of he bodies and was back in his house playing the part of broken ex-fiance. It was incredibly difficult to get off, as he had an incredible motive to kill, but with his 4 years of law school, he was set free.
He moved back to Jupiter as soon as it was cleared by law, with no heavy conscience of what he had done. He came back to a family that was falling apart and with the death of his sister still a year fresh, it was no wonder. The other one was missing, no explanation or goodbye, and Zadkiel could feel everything falling apart, but he wasn’t going to let that happen. He kept the family together, pulled them all through, almost by force, but he got it done. In due time, he opened his own law firm in Jupiter, and as the only one with a Harvard degree, he’s the most popular and most expensive, but he’s never lost a case. It wasn’t long before he was making as much, if not more than his father. He began taking his place as the authority figure of the family, he had his own home that his siblings could live with him at. When Circe graduated she moved in with him, to be closer to her college, and he almost feels like a father, ready to start his own family, though not ready to subject himself to that pain. He hasn’t had the urge to kill or harm anyone since Seraphine, and hopes it stays that way, because he’s afraid if the darkness beckoned, he wouldn’t be able to refuse.
WE'RE ALL JUST A LITTLE BIT.
While Z used to be weak-willed, a pawn, he is now steely in his decisions and orders, a king. He knows exactly what he wants and is willing to do whatever necessary to get it. After feeling pain, Z never wanted to hurt again, and detached himself for the most part from most emotions, besides anger, and became a bitter man, which flows swiftly through his sarcasm. He’s incredibly determined and intelligent, a Jupiter’s Harvard protege, though no one can figure out why he ever came back. No one knows because he’s a very secretive man, he even only told him family that he and his fiance mutually divided due to a difference of interests and future plans before her death. He’s manipulative and territorial, and incredibly dangerous. Getting on his bad side could mean disappearing and never being seen again.
Raziel Selmy: The two boys were thick as thieves from the moment the younger was born. Zadkiel had been waiting for a baby brother and thanks to that he tought the boy everything he knew. They grew up together, promising to always be there for one another and never fight. That wasn’t exactly how it went, of course, but they always ended up closer than ever before.
Artemis Costa: Zadkiel has always been the papa bear to his younger siblings, even the ones who act like moms theirselves, Artemis especially. His first baby sister, he’s grown extrememly protective of her, but it seems as of late the only people he’s defending her from is her own family.
Andy Selmy: When his baby sister ran away, Zadkiel had already moved out of the house, making the last time he saw her when he came down for her twin’s funeral. He was consumed with worry for her, ready to organize a search party all his own when she finally came back. He tried desperately to reconnect with her immediately, but he found a changed girl in her place.
Circe Selmy: Z always saw the potential in his creative younger sister, so when he came home to find her in need of his help, he offered it immediately, letting her move in and treating her like an equal, not a child.
Sam Selmy: Sam learned just about everything he knows from following Zadkiel and Raziel around their house like a puppy dog. So much older than him, Sam actually considers Z a lot like the ‘cool uncle’ rather than his big brother and for that the two have always stayed close.
Lauren Gray: At first his relationship with the constable had been strcitly professional, as one between a police cheif and attorney should be, but it was hard not to get casual with the fun-loving, laidback officer. The two are incredibly similar and of equal intelligence, so there’s few others he finds himself wishing to spend time with.
