Three different shows, three different ways of describing pansexuality. What do they all have in common? The assertion they are attracted to trans people. More than that, it’s the assertion that pansexuality is defined as a sexuality through attraction to trans and nb people. While some people might protest that this is an inaccurate representation of pansexuality, it is very much in line with it’s slogan: hearts not parts. This also has the additional implication that other sexualities are not inclusive of trans and nonbinary people or care more about genitals, which enables transphobes to define what it means to be gay, lesbian, or bisexual. Gay, lesbian, and bi people can and do have trans and nb partners and in fact are often trans/nb themselves.

Pansexuality going mainstream has revealed a lot of its fundamental flaws and it’s time to wonder if it’s time to break up with it entirely.

1: Don’t call me racist or transphobic because I understand how colour theory works.

2: I am literally trans

3: The original flag didn’t exclude people of colour, it treated them the same as everyone else. I don’t understand why you would need an extra stripe or two to “appreciate POC more”. Also, right before he died, the creator of the flag (Gilbert Baker) added a lavender stripe to represent diversity.

4: The black bar already had meaning. It represented those who were lost to AIDS. The people who added the brown stripe completely appropriated the meaning of the black one and painted over its meaning and history, which is honestly pretty disgusting in my opinion.

Stop calling people who disagree with you racist and transphobic because they know the history of the flag more than you do and realise that the brown stripe is ugly as fuck.

They have repeatedly disregarded peoples concerns about racism, pedophilia, and abuse in these works being fetishized and have gone so far as to protect these racist, pedophilic, abusive fics from being removed despite how they hurt people. The site should be taken down for harboring pedophiles and predators.

People can give this site 200k+ in a single week but wont take a second look at marginalized peoples donation posts. That’s what people are upset about. They’re upset that smth like this is getting funded. Lmfao

I hate that everytime I see an Ao3 positive post on here the reblogs are a mess of people going “but…incest, child abuse, rape!”

Yeah, there are definitely some fics on there that glorify these topics but out of 10 fics with rape in the tags at least half deal with it from the point of view of a survivor and since there is no way we can distinguish which fics are “good” and which are “problematic” by tags alone, wiping out entire categories will have the end result of silencing survivors of different traumas who use fiction as an outlet to process.

And if you advocate for that it simply means you’d rather throw survivors under the bus and contribute to the silencing of our pain we already have to endure just so that you can claim purity points. Which is its own brand of disgusting.

I’m not sure on it, I’d really like some more research to be done, see some older gender fluid people, I won’t misgender anyone. I’ll always use the proper pronouns (besides neopronouns). So I guess my opinion is neutral, in any case I’m anti harassment.

Mostly just demisexual. I don’t really take a side on the whole aces are or aren’t lgbt, I’ve just never been able to pick a side. Because on one hand you really do face some shit when you’re ace. I did when I said I was sex repulsed, and a older man tried to “change my mind.” Things like that really happen. On the other hand, I think that having their own community would be better. as far as I know, they weren’t there for the original movement, and have just become fairly visible. So, I can see arguements for both sides. And I can’t pick one

But I think the whole spectrum of ace is dumb. You either feel sexual attraction or you don’t. There’s no spectrum. Demisexual is just being a normal person with a normal love/sex life
