It’s easy for people to empathize with people who are self destructive. It’s harder for people to empathize with abusers, bullies, etc.

I don’t want to hear any BS from self-proclaimed “mental health advocates” who think that behavior which hurts others is somehow exempt from being a real way in which a mental disorder can manifest, or that people who manifest that way somehow don’t deserve treatment and forgiveness.

You don’t get to sanitize mental illness.

Sometimes I’ll see a post from someone talking about a form of racism, and I’ll just be like “racist people say shit like THAT?!” And I’ll question how society is still functioning.

There comes a point where it’s just like…I can understand unconscious biases and stuff, but some shit is just so obnoxiously bigoted that surely it must take significantly less effort to just not be discriminatory.
