fallenfromicarus :
“Scared of that? I didn’t think people could be scared of such.”
“You talk a big game but I’d like to see you prove that you’re not afraid.” Harmony said, raising a single challenging eyebrow.
son-ofthe-sea :
“Me? Scared? I don’t think so little sister.” Reed laughed. “If I recall correctly, it was a certain little mermaid who used to hide behind her extremely brave big brother when Alto used to tell those stories about huge sharks roaming around on the reef. Some things don’t change, right?”
“Okay firstly,” Harmony began, grumpily I was like five so that doesn’t count. And secondly, what mermaid in the right mind isn’t afraid of huge sharks.” She finished with a frown.
“oh come on, you’re not scared are you?”
Sitting by the river had quickly become one of Harmony’s favourite activities. It was comforting for her to be close to the water, letting her feet dip in and out of the river and everyone who was ignorant to what she was thought she was so brave for not being afraid of the mermaids. She looked up in surprise when she heard footsteps approaching the bank, there weren’t many people who were willing to get so close to the river anymore. “Careful,” Harmony called out, grinning when she recognized the approaching figure. “You don’t want to get too close and get pulled under by a mermaid.”

chanson-bda :
“Hold onto your momentum, I’m definitely not having fun.”
“Ugh, you got my hopes up for nothing then.” Then an idea hit harmony, her disappointed frown quickly growing into a wild grin. “I guess I’ll just have to force you to have fun. Whether you like it or not.”

chanson-bda :
“What makes you think I’m not having fun?”
“I’m not sure I’ve ever seen you smile, which was the first giveaway- wait are you saying you are having fun, then? This is a momentous occasion.”
All For Coin || Open
Aisling’s predicament was simple: coin was valuable, and valuable things were the best way to start her new life of revenge. The Fevered Forest was pathetically bright and sunny, and she didn’t need eyesight to feel the lighter atmosphere compared to The Tulgey. This was the road most travelers passed on, and travelers had coin. A bit of pain for a bit of gain. To draw in innocent passerby, Aisling twisted the sounds of the chirping birds and rustling branches into a tantalizing song. A flawless plan.
At last, an unsuspecting victim passed beneath the tree she waited in. Aisling leaped down and brushed the sweat from her forehead, frowning. “Took you long enough. This place sickens me.” She held out her hand. “Three gold coins to pass, two to pass after giving up your clothes, and one if you have a death wish. Get on with it.”
Harmony raised an eyebrow as she took in the sight of the girl who had appeared, seemingly out of nowhere and begun threatening her. “Correct me if I’m wrong here,” Harmony began, lips turning upward into a challenging smirk, “but good thieves aren’t meant to give their victims so many options. You’re more likely to confuse someone than scare them with that method.”
chanson-bda :
“Why would I tell you about it? You already know that I wouldn’t be here for fun.”
“Oh, that’s right. You never have any fun do you?” Harmony teased, wondering just how far she’d be able to push him before she got herself into real trouble.
chanson-bda :
Chanson shot her a look, barely responding to her smile. He glanced towards the others in the room, speaking at a volume that would only be useful to her. “What are you doing here?” He asked curiously.
“Same as you, I’d imagine.” Harmony shrugged, not fazed by his lack of response. “Unless you’re up to something no good that you haven’t told me about.” It wouldn’t exactly surprise her if Chanson had been given a secret mission that the Elders hadn’t cared to fill Harmony in on, but she’d be damned if she didn’t find out about it anyway.
asher-cooke :
“Right. Okay. Well, I’ll see ya.”
“Bye.”
asher-cooke :
“I’m not famous for having the good sense to know when I should give up.”
“Here’s a hint. That time is now.”
asher-cooke :
“Ahh, yeah. I actually get that a lot.”
“And yet you’re still talking.” Harmony responded dryly.
chanson-bda :
Chanson was coming in out of a storm, reaching up to push the hood off the back of his head as the door swung shut behind him. He had known that the storm was coming but there was still something grotesque and uncomfortable in the feeling of wet clothes sticking to your body.
“It’s really coming down out there.” He spoke to the person he caught looking at him. It seemed like something obvious and simple that you would expect an inhabitant to comment on, doing his best to blend.
“That’s quite an act.” Harmony whispered to him, grinning widely. She was hardly in the position yet to be pissing off the older mermaid, but when had that ever stopped her before? “Yes, I wonder how long it will be until it eases up.” She replied loudly, repeating the phrase from many of the conversations she’d overheard between the inhabitants.
paigeofanewbook :
Paige watched the crowd at the tea party from her own little tree near the edge of the clearing, leaning against the trunk while she sipped from her tea cup quietly. Normally, for the past few years, she looked forward to this day, eating treats and watching carefully for the possible visit of Alice’s ghost. The day always felt so mystical and joyful, but right now so many emotions were running through her as more and more people joined the party, all disgustingly hopeful as she had been once upon a time.
“Can’t people just give it a break,” she groaned, feeling like her head or chest was going to explode with all of this feeling she was fighting back. “She isn’t going to show.”
Harmony had been spending the day doing her least favourite thing; observing. The foreign, but appetising barely made up for it as she heard endless whispers about one person or another who had sworn they'd seen Alice pass by them. The mermaid couldn't even figure out why they all cared so much, so she did a double take when she recognised the girl who was expressing her exact sentiments. "That's what I thought." She spoke slowly. "I don't understand why so many people are actively searching for a ghost. That's creepy as hell."
pierce-thefierce :
He only answered with a shrug at first and continued chewing for a few more seconds before fully responding. “Yeah I grew up in a cave… Bears taught me table manners,” he answered with heavily coated sarcasm.
"That is so far from surprising."
