One year ago today, someone very important and special came into my life. It was a really tough time for both of us and it was as if something bigger than us knew that we needed each other at that moment. We met through some of the most unconventional means (as I have with most of my best friends) and our love opened wide like a door almost instantly. We’ve always joked about how fast our friendship grew but (so far) she hasn’t tried to kill me. I flew thousands of miles to be with her for her birthday and meet her for the first time and I would do it all over again in a heartbeat. She is the most amazing person I know inside and out and I am so happy that I can safely call you my soulmate because the fact is, we finish each other’s…. Donuts.
