âł EVENT ONE: Recursion Week
Times change and so do we. You canât go home again.
Dates:Â 3/28-4/04
In order to appreciate who weâve become, we must always remember who we were. Specifically, we are revisiting the past as the Disneylanders lived it. Disneylanders will be reliving this week as it was spent two years ago; about one year before the mysterious outbreak hit. All kingdoms are accessible, so if your character wishes to travel outside of home, it is terribly possible. If your characters didnât know each other before the outbreak, you can still interact. Memories are funny things and can be forgotten in times of stress like the outbreak. Feel free to plot things out with your fellow players and have fun, players!

Chandra Shadows | 23 | Human | FC: Ash Costello | CLOSED
Before the outbreak:
Growing up, Chandra was the sole child of the wealthiest family in Halloweentown. She had everything and everything she had was the absolute best. Her family raised her to be well mannered, strong-minded, and above all else, absolutely terrifying. They did not expect her to excel in that last category as much as she did, which only pleased them more. One can only imagine the pride that welled up inside when she was crowned the best Trick or Treater of her generation. Under the guidance of the famous (and terrifying, when need be) Jack Skellington, Chandra learned every haunting trick in the book. When the time came, she even triumphed over the previous generationâs son, Oogie Boogie, for the title. The two of them were constantly neck and neck for the honor, but in the end she beat him out. Badly, too. After this, the once-friends grew distant as Oogie started acting like, for lack of better word, a huge dick. Chandra let his actions roll right off her back, embracing her newfound celebrity as the scariest of all. She became well known for her deliciously horrendous Halloween celebrations, everyone was welcome and everybody came, with the exception of Oogie Boogie.
After the outbreak:
Maybe this is just because of her natural tendency to be indifferent, but the zombie outbreak affected Chandra very little. After all, zombies were just as easy to scare if you were someone like her. Like Oogie, she devotes much of her time to traumatizing the poor zombies unfortunate enough to cross her path. Unlike Oogie Boogie, she doesnât limit her work to the undead, torturing the living just as often as she does the dead. On top of that, she earns hefty sums for her handiwork. Also unlike her counterpart, she only needs one minion to get done what she requires. This would be the Harlequin Demon. Twice as reliable as Lock, Shock, and Barrel, and two thirds less likely to argue. The last difference is treatment. Chandra isnât nearly as psychologically abusive as Oogie is to his servants, and often treats Harlequin like her own flesh and blood.

Oogie Boogie | 27 | Human Turning Zombie | FC: Chris Cerulli (Chris Motionless) | CLOSED
Before the outbreak:
The man who became Oogie Boogie started as the young spawn of the best Trick or Treaters in Halloween history thus far. Quite the reputation to live up to, and his parents expected nothing less of him. Despite his best, most horrifying efforts, Oogie always fell just a hair short of what was demanded from him. After losing the title of finest Trick or Treater to Chandra, his parentâs cast him off, disowning him as their next-of-kin. No son of theirs lost such an important honor, especially not to a girl. He became even more angry when he discovered the Pumpkin King played a role in his competitorâs success. Bitterness consumed Oogie and he spent the next many years obsessing on how to best Chandra and how to punish Jack for costing him such a prestigious honor. This is where a certain well-known trifecta of trouble-causing hellions comes in. With the trioâs names and infamous tales of their Trick or Treating dripping out of everyoneâs mouths, it didnât take long for Oogie to decide he must claim them. Lock, Shock, and Barrel could only make him look better. Their constant need to please him stroked his ego, so he made sure they were always fighting for his favor. They all had their perks, but they also all had their pitfalls. Lock was extremely destructive, but possibly twice as stupid. Shock was the brains of the operation and extremely eager to earn the bossâs favor, but she was also a slave to her emotions, which clouded her thinking. Barrel did nothing in particular to earn Oogieâs approval, he just had it, but he also did nothing. He would point out his minionâs flaws every chance he could so they would work harder and fill the hole inside of him. His minions became his most prized possessions. He felt he was nothing without them.
After the outbreak:
Soon after the outbreak, Oogie found he could practice his talent for terrorizing on the undead. The trio would bring in some poor unfortunate zombie for the Boogie man to experiment on, strictly for his own entertainment. Until he was bitten, that is. Now, all this poking and prodding is part of a race against time to find a cure for himself. His fear of death has made him lash out harsher and more often on his servants. He almost lost his head when Shock admitted she had been bitten. It was only after his initial anger had worn off that he realized how useful a willing test subject would have been to him. With this revelation, he has given Lock and Barrel the assignment to spend every second they arenât bringing Oogie new test subjects searching for the now missing-in-action third of the trio. He keeps his bite a secret and will keep it a secret even after he cures himself. Unless something goes catastrophically wrong in the process.

Kaa | 20 | Human Turning Zombie/Shere Khan's Assistant | Candice Accola | CLOSED
Before the outbreak:
Kaa was a girl who was used to getting everything she wanted. From material objects to people, there were few things she couldn't get her hands on. While on the surface she may seem sweet and caring, those who get close enough to her soon find out she's cold, manipulative, and will sink to just about any level to get what she wants. Her words have a way of mesmorizing even the most stubborn people, but the only nut she could never quite crack was Shere Khan. He was suave and cool, and never fell prey to her charms. She met the man when the crowd she was with in high school fell into a deep pit of vice, the pit consisting of sex and drinking, but most expensively, the drugs. And that's where Shere came in. It was her job to supply the circle, and he had the best product in Disney. She fell deeper into her downward spiral, and soon she found herself unable to pay for her habit. When she couldn't pay anymore, the two of them struck a deal and she began to work for him, using her talents to bring in new customers while continually drawing in new ones.
After the outbreak:
When the curse struck, Kaa was happy that she was part of the few that were left human. Her friends and family were all struck, leaving her with only Shere for company. She carried on with her job, even going as far as drawing in zombies to the business. It was talking to one such zombie that another attacked her from behind, managing to bite her in the process. She holed up for days until it healed, the scar on her forearm hidden by the long sweaters she wears around to hide her new status from her boss.

Elsa | 23 | Human | FC: Dianna Agron | CLOSED
Before the outbreak:
For the life of a princess, Elsaâs was rather reclusive. Her parents opted for private tutors and abstained from the grand balls and parties of the surroundings kingdoms. They never entertained foreign dignitaries, and Elsa herself rarely left her bedroom. This was for everyoneâs good though, for Elsa has carried with her a dark secret. From birth, the girl had power over the cold. It wasnât an uncommon occurrence for the princess to turn the ballroom into a winter wonderland for her sister to play in. Unfortunately, Elsa could never seem to control her magic, and a tragic accident nearly killed her younger sister Anna. They were able to save the little girl, but Elsa was forever changed. She limited her contact with her sister to an almost nonexistent level, all the while trying to suppress her abilities. Nothing ever seemed to work.
After the outbreak:
Elsa was in the middle of her coronation when chaos broke out at the party. Her power had been exposed, and she fled into the hills to protect not only herself, but her subjects. She could have never known that had she only stayed, she could have saved them all from the terrible fate they all endured at the jaws of the undead. She lives in the hills now, perfecting her abilities and feeling happy for once. She still misses her sister terribly, but sheâs better off without her, right?

Anna --> Sister
Anna | 21 | Human Turning Zombie | FC: Karen Gillan | CLOSED
Before the outbreak:
In the farthest corners of her mind, Anna remembers the days where her elder sister was her best friend. They used to do everything together, because only they seemed to understand that the life of a princess was not all it was cracked up to be. Then something she doesnât quite remember happened, and suddenly Elsa was a stranger. Her parents locked up the castle and cut down the staff, isolating Anna not only from family, but people in general. This lack of contact left the girl severely impaired when it came to social skills, making her awkward and hard to relate to others. When her parents passed away, her relationship with Elsa didnât change, leaving her even more alone than before. All she wanted was for her life to resemble a fairy tale, but it seemed hers was just a grim story that had no happy ending in sight.Â
After the outbreak:
All she had wanted was for her sister to lighten up. It was her party, after all. And then with a great flourish of ice, she learned why her sister had been so withdrawn for so long. Everyone called her sister a monster and let her flee, but Anna wasnât ready to accept that as the end. She took off into the hills after her sister, only to lose her way thanks to the years spent inside the castle. When she was attacked by one of the walking dead, and somehow made it out before dying outright. She still wanders in search of her sister, though the memories are fading fast.

Kristoff | 22 | Human | FC: Austin Butler | OPEN
Before the outbreak:
Kristoff has always felt more comfortable with animals than with people. If you ask, heâll reply with a happy tune, but the song will hold his secret. People will hurt you and beat you and cheat you. He sings it so off handedly that you donât even register the line, and walk away feeling more charmed than concerned. He prefers it this way, because heâs not really one to open up about his feelings. The truth is that he ran away from home when he was very small with his best friend Sven. His family was full of terrible people, and the young boy knew even at that early age that heâd be better off on his own than with what was happening at home. He started work in the north, harvesting ice and delivering it to southern kingdoms in the summer. It was a decent and needed job, and he loved it.
After the outbreak:
Kristoffâs saving grace was the cold that he lived in. He found that his would be attackers were hindered by the cold and unable to follow him at the speed that they would in the warmer areas. He used this to his advantage, and whenever he was unprepared, heâd lead them up into the cold to lose them. He figured this knowledge would be best put to use as a hunter, so he and Sven joined on to better protect the humans in Disney.

Wendy Pleakly | 22 | Human | FC: Andrej Pejic | OPEN
Before the outbreak:
All her life, Wendy Pleakly has been an anxious soul. She couldnât handle tests in school, and often kept from joining any social scene to save herself the trouble of interaction and possible problems. It was during a school function where she fled to get away from the crowd that she met Jumba and Stitch. She felt comfortable with and accepted by the two, and became their loyal friend. As long as they were around, she knew things would be just fine.
After the outbreak:
When Pleakly discovered that people were changing, she immediately sought out Jumba. She needed to make sure he was fine and see if he knew what was happening, because he always seemed to have the answers every other time. His ignorance frightened her, but she was certain heâd figure out what to do. It nearly broke her heart when they found Stitch infected and completely clean of memories of his friends. Now with Stitch gone and Jumbaâs memory fading, sheâs trying to find the courage to carry on.

Steven âStitchâ Kapule | 22 | Zombie | FC: Roshon Fegan | OPEN
Before the outbreak:
Steven was always a handful. Maybe his real parents knew that from the beginning, and thatâs why he was abandoned as an infant at a safe place? Whatever the reason, the boy could not be content to live the life of a docile foster child. He constantly sought attention, often performing dangerous stunts to gain it. It was from one of these stunts that he gained his nickname, when he was taken to the E.R. Still, this wasnât a wake up call for the boy, and he continued to be the thorn in the side of any foster parent that tried to take him in. His small stunts turned into actual trouble, and he spent a lot of time in the police station. It was during court mandated community service that he met Jumba, when he was forced into janitorial services during his high schoolâs science fair. He liked the budding scientistâs attitude and they became quick friends. He always made sure that his friends had his support in whatever they did, since he really didnât fit into a mold either.
After the outbreak:
Stitch fell victim to the outbreak so quickly, that he was undead before he even hit the ground. He hunted down people with the same recklessness as he lived, feeling no ties to humanity or anyone else. That was until he came across a girl, sitting confused in a clearing. He chose not to attack her, instead asking what was wrong. The living dead girl smiled then, jumping up and embracing him. Stitch was too confused to react, and instead listened as she explained that she was looking for her family. She had decided to wait for her ohana to find her, and since Stitch had, he must be family. Having no memory of his human life, Stitch accepted the idea and took it upon himself to look after her as one of his own. When two strangers took him away, he grew worried for his newly found ohana, and attacked so that he could make his way back to her. Lilo is the destructive boyâs only concern.

Lilo Pelekai | 17 | Zombie | FC: Hailee Steinfeld | OPEN
Before the outbreak:
Lilo had the best family a girl could ask for. Her parents were open-minded, loving people who were never too busy for her or her older sister Nani. Because they nurtured her eccentricity, the spirited girl expressed her creativity in every facet available to her. Unfortunately for her, the kids in her school alienated her for doing so. Strange was apparently bad. It devastated Lilo that she couldnât be herself, but her mother urged her to be herself and continue on. Lilo couldnât understand why such a beautiful and graceful woman like her motherâsomeone who embodied normalityâwanted her to be different. Confused but empowered, Lilo turned her feelings into art. She danced out her disappointment. She sang out her loneliness. She painted away her sadness. Lilo was determined to prove to the world that âdifferentâ didnât have to be a negative thing.
After the outbreak:
Lilo was with her parents when all hell broke loose. They rushed off to find Nani and flee as a family. When it became clear that they werenât going to make it to Naniâs safely, her parents did their best to protect Lilo, dying in the process. Unfortunately, their sacrifice was for naught, as Lilo succumbed to the infection. When she woke up, she didnât know where she was, or what happened to her family. Confused and worried, she sat down and waited, reasoning that if she waited for them then her family would find her. When a boy approached her to see if she was okay, she knew that this was the family sheâd been waiting for. The boy seemed to accept this and brought her to live with him, hunting for both of them since she wasnât as large and strong as him. Despite being dead, she still believes that she is merely âdifferentâ.
