A Tale of Two Boys

There were once two boys Born an ocean apart They were different you see For each had half a heart

Let me tell you their story So you can learn That even when darkness wins A flame will always burn

We are all but stardust But they were something more They had a light in their eyes That made you believe you could soar

From early they were taught Though they always knew Of how different they were So in fear they grew

Their spirits never resigned Dreams made them strong For dreams silenced the voices That shouted “you’ll never belong”

The sea was their sacred home In its arms they found peace As if they knew that in its depth Laid their heart’s missing piece

But fate is a mischievous child For she gave one of them a song Through it they would find each other And once they did What they felt wasn’t wrong

Yes it was love! Known to break any curse Now they shared a heart And their awakening had no reverse

Many vows are made But theirs were a joy to see Because everyone could tell They were simply meant to be

P.S. I’ve created this as a christmas present for my boyfriend, and I wanted to share it with the world, because I feel that it might bring comfort and hope to other boys out there, who love boys, mermaids and fairytales.
