People say that you can know someone from the contents of their purse- and even easier than someone’s purse is their suitcase. The students and teachers of Hogwarts pack their bags and gather their belongs in preparation for each new school year, and were we able to take a peek inside we might be able to gather a great many things about their colourful, diverse worlds.

The Admins at Disney Hogwarts are excited to introduce our first writing task of (hopefully) many- #1: Whozits and Whatsits Galore. For this task, we’d like for each roleplayer to give us an insight into their character by showing us what belongings they’ve brought for the new year at Hogwarts. 

This is a freeform task, meaning that your ‘writing’ can take any form- a narrated solo para, a para conversation between two characters unpacking in their dorm, an annotated list, a collection of images with a few captions, or something else we haven’t listed here! It’s up to you, and what you think best suits your style and your character! Our writing tasks are non-compulsory- but we do strongly recommend giving them a go.

This writing task will be open until 16/3/18, at which point we’ll be looking to post a new task. All completed tasks should be tagged with ‘dhtask’.

Dimitri Orlov is eighteen and is a sixth year muggleborn Ravenclaw. He reminds people of Dimitri from Anastasia. Muggles might say he looks like Bob Morley and Dimitri is currently open.

When he was younger, Dimitri was never really sure why he was actually placed in Ravenclaw. He didn’t have the natural book smarts that most of the others in his house did, and much preferred to spend time adventuring in the castle or joking around with friends than studying. But, as he’s gotten older, Dimitri thinks he might have a hold on it- he’s incredibly intelligent with people. Dimitri knows how to make friends with anyone, how to emotionally appeal to them, how to scam or scare or persuade. That’s not to say he’s cruel or manipulative- he’s got a good heart and wouldn’t do anything to hurt anyone, but he knows exactly what he could do to get the most reaction. Because of his people smarts, Dimitri tends to spend a lot of time observing others over getting involved, though he’s known around the castle as an excellent mediator when he needs to be. He does value self-preservation, and isn’t one to risk himself in most scenarios- but those few who do truly gain his trust and appreciation know they can rely on him.

Anya Romanova is eighteen and is a sixth year pureblood Gryffindor. She reminds people of Anastasia from Anastasia. Muggles might say she looks like Natalia Dyer and Anya is currently open. 

Headstrong and brave, Anya never felt at home anywhere before she was sorted into Gryffindor at Hogwarts. Left on the doorstep of a Children’s Home as a baby, Anya was never really sure of who she was and who she wanted to be, and when she was older naturally fell into a bit of a protective role for the younger children. She’s also very argumentative, and regularly found herself in trouble with carers, and, later, teachers at Hogwarts. Anya has a natural charm and wry smile that makes her a lot of friends, and won’t hesitate to break rules if they’re doing more harm than good. Deep down, Anya is very unsure of herself, and spends a lot of time thinking about where she might have come from. But she’s also realistic, and knows that she might never find out- and is trying her very best to get the most out of life despite the frustrating mystery.

Marley ‘Morph’ Wincott is sixteen and a fourth year halfblood Hufflepuff. They remind people of Morph from Treasure Planet. Muggles might say they look like Amandla Stenberg and Morph is currently open.

Born a rare metamorphagus, Marley hasn’t had the easiest time working out who they want to be. After all, when you can change how you look as often as you want, why not have a bit of fun with how you act too? And it’s fun that defines a lot of Marley’s life- their pranks and goofy humour, combined with a few trademark abilities, earned them the nickname ‘Morph’ a few years ago. Morph is pretty clever, but has no particular interest in applying that intelligence, and doesn’t really put in a lot of effort most days. They’ve grown pretty close recently to Jim Hawkins, and the two spend a lot of time together- Jim’s wits and Morph’s sense of joy make a good combination. Marley can regularly be found in the kitchens- often at the cost of skipping class- trying every exotic new food and drink the house elves come up with, and they love new experiences of every kind.

Nick Wilde is eighteen and is a sixth year muggleborn Slytherin. He reminds people of Nick from Zootopia. Muggles might say he looks like Joe Keery and Nick is currently open.

It is an unfortunate fact that the universe has not made life easy for Nick. Over the years he’s learned to fend for himself- and has found, most notably, that the best way to get ahead is not to shout and fight, but to use more subtle techniques to get what you need. Charismatic and charming, Nick has an easy smile that tends to draw people to him, and a sly sense of humour that keeps them around. Dig a bit further and Nick is pretty much the definition of Slytherin cunning. He’ll lie and flatter and con his way to success- though it’s never with malicious intent; only in the instinct of self-preservation in an unyielding world. Despite people liking his charm, Nick has trouble trusting other people enough to call them friends- and has a habit of getting on the wrong side of staff members around the castle.

Gogo Tomago is nineteen and a seventh year halfblood Ravenclaw. She reminds people of Gogo from Big Hero 6. Muggles might say she looks like Rinko Kikuchi and Gogo is currently open.

Ever since she was young, Gogo has always loved speed. Though she’d never be sentimental enough to actually say it out loud, she relishes the feeling of the world rushing past in a blur. And, since coming to Hogwarts and being placed in Ravenclaw, she’s turned her intelligence towards the science of it. Much to the chagrin of her classmates, Gogo keeps a muggle bicycle around and is constantly experimenting with charms to make it go faster, and more recently she’s turned her attention towards brooms- though that’s proving much harder thanks to the magic already imbued in them. Gogo is logical and focused, though if you can get her to stop working for a while she’s got a cheeky, sarcastic sense of humour that her friends adore. She’s got a group of very close friends that she is fiercely protective of, and they all putting their brains together for various projects. Gogo loves a challenge, and is always pushing herself toward bigger, better, and faster things.

Honey Lemon is eighteen and is a sixth year pureblood Gryffindor. She reminds people of Honey Lemon from Big Hero 6. Muggles might say she looks like Victoria Justice and Honey is currently open.

Honey has heard, many times throughout her life, that her looks and intelligence were somehow at odds. But Honey has always prided herself on defying stereotypes, and her confidence and bravery to be herself landed her squarely in Gryffindor. Bubbly and animated, Honey has charmed many a person over her years in the castle, and many love her constant optimism and charisma. She’s rarely seen without a perfect outfit and flawless hair- combined with a bag full of books on Ancient Runes and Advanced Alchemy. Some say she ought to be in Ravenclaw - but Honey sees her intelligence only as a way to make the world around her a better place. Honey adores her close group of friends, and loves collaborating with them on projects. She is caring and supportive, and many find that a bad day can be completely turned around by her bright smile.

Judy Hopps is nineteen and is a seventh year halfblood Hufflepuff. She reminds people of Judy from Zootopia. Muggles might say she looks like Mary Wiseman and Judy is currently open.

Judy- as she will very proudly tell you herself- is the first Head Girl from Hufflepuff in twelve years. Though some might wonder if it’s just pandering, Judy herself knows that she worked hard to get that position. Determined and eager, Judy has an infectious sort of energy that motivates anyone who spends time around her. She’s also got quite the sense of justice, and can’t stand seeing bullies or scoundrels around the castle- though she’s not the most intimidating figure. Judy can be a bit stubborn, and doesn’t really listen to other people’s opinions if she’s sure she’s right. She can also be impulsive, enacting plans or fixes without maybe taking the time to consider consequences. But despite that, she’s also one of the most caring people you’ll ever meet. Judy has a big heart, and it serves her well in many of the situations she has to deal with as Head Girl.

Mirage Rinchen is a former half-Veela Slytherin and the current Librarian. She reminds people of Mirage from The Incredibles. Muggles might say she looks like Dichen Lachman, and Mirage is currently open.

Mirage is known for being a tricky person to figure out- both now and back when she attended Hogwarts as student. She seems to know every book in the library inside and out, and uses that knowledge wisely. Students that gain her favour find that Mirage can help them find what they need in five minutes- those that gain her ire might find themselves wandering stacks for hours. Mirage doesn’t particularly care for students in general. She’s always been frustrated by immaturity and incompetence, and that can be rife. But Mirage loves, simply, knowledge- and there are few better places to gain and control that knowledge than the Hogwarts library. Mirage is very clever and always suave- most people will never have any idea what she’s thinking in a given moment. But she’s an invaluable ally in any situation, and she knows it.

now that ella has a new fc, where else could you see saoirse ronan fitting?

Interesting question anon! I’m thinking that Saoirse could work as an alternative FC for Tinkerbell or Rapunzel, or as faceclaim for Dormouse, Victoria Everglot, Odette, or Thumbelina.

Any suggestions for where you can see a Selena Gomez fitting in?

Hm, that’s a tricky one! I think Selena can be a little overused so there’s definitely a trick to putting her with someone that isn’t too cliche. Dot or Marie would be my first picks, but she could also work for Atta, Minnie Mouse, or maybe even Flounder!
