Some of yall will never understand the guilt writers have when they get a request and they can’t think of very many ideas for it to look like there is a decent amount written then they keep it in their drafts to hopefully get more ideas but then when you can’t you think you just can’t write for the character and you just overall feel bad for not being able to write much for this ask because you’re kinda dumb and it shows

( hey um, i’m feeling kinda down so decided to write this to cheer up a little, enjoy. )
candlelight —
a vincent sinclair & reader oneshot.
it was 11 pm.
vincent was standing in front of the kitchen counter, cutting vegetables for a special meal he was preparing. his hand delicately moving the knife forward and back, sliding to cut the spinach and mushrooms.
his palms were sweaty, his hand holding the kitchen knife slightly trembled as a notorious sign of nervousness being inevitably manifested on his body. finally he encouraged himself to ask you if you would like to have a dinner date at his place; he couldn’t believe that you actually accepted and this was getting him surprisingly unsettled, enough for bo to notice since vincent used to be a pretty quiet guy.
there was a pot with boiling water and pasta resting on the top of the stove, vincent turned to his left and slowly moved his hand down to move the stove’s knob to turn it off, once he did he turned back to his workplace at the kitchen’s counter, still holding his kitchen knife only to encounter bo’s face next to his with a slight smirk across his face. this made the masked man jump out of surprised, accidentally cutting a small wound on his index finger with the knife as a small gasp escaped his mouth; vincent left the knife on the cutting table and went to the kitchen sink to place his bleeding finger under the waterjet.
bo walked towards his brother’s back and looked over his shoulder while he moved his hips to one side and crossed his arms, still smirking.
“so, when is your girlfriend coming?”
vincent turned off the water, looked away and went to take some paper towel to dry his hands, he wasn’t talkative at all, even less when he was this nervous and embarrassed about the situation since he never experienced something similar in the past, not even close. he only limited himself to bow his head down and walking to the living room, it was almost time.
“it’s alright.” —said the older brother walking towards the entrance, taking the car keys and opening the door while putting his favourite jockey and nodding towards his younger brother.
“i’ll let you two have some alone time.”
and with that, bo left the house only to leave vincent alone. his heart was racing, he looked to the clock that was placed on the living room and walked fast towards the kitchen, he couldn’t afford to lose more time.
12 am.
you knocked softly on the door of the sinclair’s house as you swallowed, you were nervous as well, this was your first official date with vincent. the door slowly opened to reveal vincent behind the door, gesturing you for you to enter, closing the door behind you. he seemed excited to see you again and you could visibly notice since he carefully grabbed your hand and looked at you as if he was asking for permission to hug you; without saying much, you threw yourself on his arms and tightly hugged him as he did too, softly caressing your hair.
you glanced over his shoulder, ending the hug as you were surprised to find a nicely settled table, decorated with a red tablecloth, flowers in the center, two handmade candles next to them and silverware that had handles made out of wax that presentex beautiful patterns.
vincent led you to your chair to then walk to the kitchen to bring the dinner he had prepared specially for you. it was a nice meal containing mushrooms, goat cheese, spinach, and light creamy-sauce-coated pasta with a generous crackle of pepper over the top. you two enjoyed the meal and had a nice chat; vincent mostly communicating through gestures since he had difficulty speaking since little, neither that he had the necessity to do it anyway, he knew you could perfectly understand him and that was one of his favourite qualities about you.
after dinner, you two sat on the living room, vincent was very excited to show you all of the statues and sculptures he had around. he particulary took one that reminded him a lot about you, it was a small sculpture of a fairy that was surrounded by flowers and had a small pot that was pouring water into a river, you eyed the statue with admiration, carefully sliding your fingers across the details, her face resembled yours; she had such a calm and ethereal look on her eyes that bringed you a serene feeling just by looking at her. vincent didn’t took his eyes off you, smiling under his mask.
“it’s beautiful.” —you mentioned as you placed your hands on top of vincent’s, noticing the small wound on his index finger. vincent explained to you how he managed to get cut and this only made you melt, cute, you never thought that he actually would be so nervous to see you.
you asked him where could you find something to clean his wound and some bandaids and after a few minutes of searching, you came with some peroxide, cotton pads and bandaids. you carefully cleaned his wound with a cotton soaked in peroxide and placed a bandaid on top of the wound. you looked up at him into his eyes while holding both of his hand on yours, cupping them until they felt warm.
“thank you” —you got closer to him, placing your head on his chest.
“i had a wonderful night.” —his hands slowly left yours only to place his arms around you and bring you closer to him, enough so you could feel his heartbeat slow down, announcing you that he was calm and relaxed next to you as you felt the wamrth of his embrace. on his mind, his only thought was wishing for this moment to last forever.
so I’ve just rewatched “Scream” and decided to create a quick sketch
