Have you been trying to get them to repair your dishwasher for five months and they won’t replace the spray arm part even though it’s visibly broken?

You’ve heard of employee unions using collective bargaining to force the bosses to provide better pay and better working condiditions. But did you know if you rent an apartment in an apartment complex, you can do something similar?

It’s called a Tenant Association, and it’s basically a union for renters.

Reasons not to have your dog offleash at a public park:

1) roads (this one is self-explanatory)

2) it makes the park inaccessible to like, entire swathes of the population. If you have experience with police dogs or guard dogs in your neighborhood, or you're a new immigrant from somewhere with a large population of feral dogs, it sucks ass going to the park and having someone's massive lab bound up to you!

3) If, for example, you are in a protected wetland area plastered with friendly signs asking you to please leash your dog to avoid causing an ecological impact, having your dog offleash might cause an ecological impact! "Oh no, my dog is well-behaved, they would never bother the wildlife" wrong! your dog is in the pond trying to eat the endangered Blandings' turtles!

4) Non-zero chance of a jokerified park guide (me) just clipping your dog to a leash and stealing them

Time for a quarterly reminder not to touch bats, even if your country has claimed to “eradicate rabies.” Because they only ever eradicated rabies lyssavirus, which was never even in bats in the Old World in the first place. All the other rabies causing lyssaviruses found in bats in places like Australia, Europe, and Asia are still there.

Germany has three viruses that cause rabies. The UK has two. Australia has one. They have even found rabid Japanese pipistrelle bats.

Please love and respect bats, they are so amazing for the ecosystem! Just don’t touch them.

since I know for a fact survival theft will be going up this month, do not steal from Target, they have some of if not The highest end security measures in place, even if they don't call you out on your first theft, they know you did it, and they're waiting until you've stolen enough to get the law involved.

With the lack of SNAP benefits in the US hitting in a few days, welcome to No Snitch November. If you see somebody taking food? No you didn't. Taking formula? No you didn't. Taking diapers? No you didn't. When the government turns their back on our neighbors, it's our job to protect them.

since snap benefits are being threatened i wanna share the single resource i can atm which is the woman behind Dollar Tree Dinners. for years now she has consistently provided filling, healthy recipes that really push the envelope on good meals from dollar tree ingredients. especially since next month will involve lots of family meals regardless if you celebrate the holiday, people should be pleased to know she puts together videos showing how to make a holiday meal on a budget.

Food stamps may stop in November if the shutdown continues. This may be a good time to look into food banks, kitchens, meal trains, and discount markets and programs for outdated foods if you are depending on SNAP.

There's at least one regional org where we live doing a massive food drive in response, so we'll be participating. I'm openly asking anyone who can help out to do the same for your local communities.
