Diablo fanfic idea snippet
Featuring: Fenn (original character), Mephisto, Imperius, Maltheal/Matthew, and the start of Chalad'ar‘s violence arc

The laughter of the demon filled the air and Fenn could do nothing but watch. Hands, fleshy and large, came down upon her. There was no slow motion like one may describe in a book or see in a movie. It was like a ball whizzing to your face, even as someone yells to duck.
“Move!” Ah, there it was now. The warning, just a little too-
CLANG
That noise filled the air, swiftly followed by the agitated growl of the Lord of Hatred. His hands, once dead set on crushing her, now slamming itself on to his eye as he shielded his face from something.
Something that was now hurtling towards Fenn. Great.
Already, Fenn was scrambling away from her place on floor. But with her aching head, she wasn’t too sure she was making good progress. She had been recently slammed to the floor; cut her some slack.
The growing shadow of a bloodly goblet gunning for her head wasn’t planning on it.
“Move already!” The impassioned, yet irritating, shout of Imperius tried to motive her. Tired. What did he think Fenn was trying to do? Start a rousing conversation to the creepy gramps of the “Sanctuary” down there?
It was certainly a bad time to do it, but Fenn couldn’t help but grumble to herself. She was going to die to her saviour, a goblet of all things! And people were just yelling at her to move, like she wasn’t trying to drag herself up. If she didn’t need both of her hands, Fenn would’ve definitely flipped Imperius the bird.
Can you blame her?
The fecking goblet seemed eager to.
And again, just as Fenn was about to receive a fatal blow, it was stopped with a sudden noise. It was more of a ‘clank’ than a ‘CLANG’ this time; the sound of metal on metal. The reason for this being a hand, slender and armoured, stopped the concussion hungry goblet a ruler’s length away from her head.
There was a beat, no seriously, Mephisto was trashing for some reason. One of his tentacle tail things slammed on the ground as he continued to scrub at his face. The force of it strong enough to jolt Fenn a little off the ground and send her second saviour tumbling onto her.
“nO!” He yelped, trying very hard to crush Fenn. She appreciated the effort, but considering that she was still squashed…
“6 out of 10 effort,” Fenn groaned, “but you still weigh too much in that armour.” She gave a curved shoulder pad a light push, now giving up on getting up on her own. Her body hurt too much for this much effort. Plus, Fenn was starting to suspect something was broken. Great.
“Truly now?” An arm lifted itself over Fenn’s face, hand reaching to a cowled head to rub it. The face within the cowl was shadowed, yet the voice filtering out was familiar, if a little ghostly.
“I will remember that next time.” Matthew snarked back. He started to get up, looking up at Mephisto who had rolled away in his distress. Fenn couldn’t help but be weirded out.
“Seriously? It was just a fancy metal cup. This guy couldn’t have been your lifelong enemy, Matt.” Fenn frowned as Matthew started to lift her up and throw her arm over his neck. From all the things she heard in her short tenure in Sanctuary, an all powerful Demon Lord being brought down by a goblet was a little disappointing.
Matthew just snorted, helping Fenn limp over to Imperius who, despite his great effort, wasn’t making great progress in getting out of that…uh… Bulbous hate thing? Whatever it was, it looked gross.
“It is a chalice, Fenn.” Matthew started, using what must be his wing tendril to show off the chalice to Fenn. He was clearly about to continue, but Imperius, impatient and wrathful, cut in.
“That ‘c u p’,” the fallen angel seethed, “is a holy relic of wisdom! Chalad'ar has helped to guide the Heavens, provided us with profound truths that worked in tandem with Fate to guide us to victory.” Imperius stole a steadying breath, and Fenn could see slitted nostrils just like hers through his helm. She saw no eyes, but his glare was pretty obvious.
He then slowly moved his head to stare at Matthew.
“And you, Maltheal,”
The air almost sizzled and smoke started to waft away from Imperius’s helm. For a moment, Fenn wondered if she would have to kick the fallen angel, if just to stop the small tremors on her brother’s shoulders.
Then the smoke dissipated. Then Imperius started to shake, his armour and new flesh making a wretched squelching noise as he fought to get his next sentence out.
“And you-” Imperius paused there, as if he were truly thinking about what just happened. The shaking got worse, and Matthew raised one of his hands to Imperius’s. Unsure what to do, but wanting to try soothe his former brother in arms, no matter how awkward. His worry, though, was thankfully unneeded.
“Any you just threw it.” Imperius rushed out. He suddenly threw his helm back and let out a ship like bellow of laughter. Fenn knew, if her brother still had his human face, Matthew’s face would crumple with the effort of hiding his embarrassment. Always too awkward to emote, yet he would always look like he was forced to suck a lemon.
She couldn’t help herself, Imperius’s laugh was strangely infectious, and Fenn just had to join. She knew that Matthew would be turning at her in disbelief. She felt the tassels of his cowl move in her direction. But Fenn only laughed harder.
They were still in a dire situation, Mephisto can still behind them. But she had been chasing her brother all throughout this world. She deserved to laugh in an inappropriate situation.
And if Fenn heard Matthew laugh a little, she’ll just have to tease him later.

Extras
When Maltheal threw Chalad'ar at Mephisto, it was still filled with liquid from the pools of Wisdom. It turns out, it’s the ultimate holy water of the Diablo verse.
It also doesn’t help that most of it got in Mephisto’s eye. That wasn’t going to heal until he revived at the abyss again.

Fenn is not a human, nor is she a native to the Diablo universe. She certainly did not enjoy being called a demon and hunted down a day into this universe. Fenn did not think that a trip to see if this universe could jog Maltheal’s memories could turn into a fight for their lives.
Fenn, quite frankly, enjoyed it even less when - upon recovering his memories - Maltheal suddenly disappeared and forced Fenn on a wild goose chase after him. All over the main 3 realms.
She was quite glad to use her knowledge on modern human memes to confuse the enemy. Once, she got past the language barrier. (Please imagine a horrendous amount of “your mom” jokes sent at Rathma, which was the only reason why he survived)
Exploring Eridian’s biology. Most of it are taken from the book, but I want to add to it :)
My headcanons:
-Rocky and Adrian had kids before Rocky went away. They are now in their (human equivalent) 20s.
-Adrian and Rocky used to be around the same age, now Adrian is MUCH older.
-Baby Eridians are called pebbles (like baby goats are called kids). Yes, this is all Grace doing.
-Eridan’s eggs are like geode.
-Eridian’s eggs (canonically) are laid together when mate and then merge. I however, also think that they would usually go for two at a time for protection (they can watch each other sleep as they get older).
-Rocky name his two new pebbles after Grace and the Hail Mary.
-I’m not a geologist and very much not knowledgeable about rock, but I believe that the green/blue we see Eridians have (movie ver) could be caused by the various level of metal element on their rock layer, like copper and bronze, interacting with the elements over time (Verdigris).
-Baby Eridians are smooth rock. As Eridians grow, they became sharper and more complex looking, caused both by natural aging and external elements.
-Most elder Eridians are green/blue since it’s a form of rusting, kind of like human with grey hair.
Can you imagine streamer Simon and science teacher Grace? Grace’s students don’t know that they’re dating or live together so Grace often hears his students talk about Simon and what games they really want him to play live (and if Grace suggests them to Simon and Simon plays them then he’s not gonna tell his students. He feels like a spy)
Cut to, one night, Simon’s streaming and he looks to his left to see Grace bringing him some water and food and Simon gets this lovesick look on his face and says “thanks Star.” And the chat are going crazy because “Simon has a partner?!” They hear a man softly telling Simon that he’s welcome and asking what time he’s finishing streaming so he can finish his marking before then so they can actually spend some time together (Grace watches Simon’s streams whilst he’s working on lesson planning and stuff)
Simon mumbles something about another hour then he’s “all yours” and Simon goes off screen a bit to kiss Grace as Grace doesn’t like being on camera. What Grace doesn’t know is that some people in chat saw his fox cardigan (like the front bit). Grace leaves the room and chat is going crazy speculating who it could be.
The next day, Grace makes the mistake of wearing his fox cardigan to class because his students who watched the stream last night are freaking out.
My Little Pony idea where after Season 9 Episode 21 "Daring Doubt" with an endgame ship of Daring Do x Dr. Caballeron x Ahuizotl (and hinted Discord x Fluttershy)

It starts where Caballeron stays in contact with Fluttershy and sends her the books he has written just like Daring Do does with Rainbow Dash. One day, he happens to be in Ponyville and decides to hand/hoof deliver the book to her cottage. It just so happens that Discord is having tea with Fluttershy.
The meeting starts off alright, Discord is a little jealous but it's not as bad as the whole thing with Tree Hugger. But once he learns of the circumstances of the friendship between Fluttershy and Caballeron, Discord gets a little antagonistic. He's a little secretive about it - Discord doesn't want Fluttershy upset at him of course - and, surprisingly, he has the help of Fluttershy's animals who too weren't happy at the thought of Fluttershy almost dying in lava. All thanks to Caballeron.
This antagonism doesn't stop at Fluttershy's cottage, it follows Caballeron everywhere. Animals gossip and Discord is chaotic petty. You can probably imagine how this gets in the way of the colt's everyday life, both business and personal life wise.
(I would ask you, dear reader, to imagine random animals inconveniencing Caballeron outside of his home while Discord messes with the pony in his house. A bird ruining an underground deal by revealing their location to the cops. Discord putting a mini cotton candy tornado in Caballeron's house that coats it in chocolate milk and sticks his furniture in random walls.)
It is through this that Caballeron ends up seeking out Ahuizotl, just for the mere hope that his cats aren't passive aggressive to him due to the Fluttershy debacle. Unfortunately, like their master the cats aren't exactly happy to see him so soon; Caballeron is just relieved that they even were listening to him. After a bit of back and forth, they make a deal. They will help Caballeron with the antagonism of the animals (they are not even trying with Discord, that is a whole other beast altogether) as long as he brings back the artefact he has stolen.
He agrees. Though he didn't expect Ahuizotl to suddenly follow him back to his house to see if there were any artefacts there right now. (Okay completely unrelated, but I swear there was an 'i' in 'artefact', am I tripping or is auto correct and Google playing tricks on me?)
The house, while currently devoid of any artefacts, is a horrible mess. Caballeron left it while snapping pineapples made short work of his nice couch. Now, his home is filled with a whole fruit basket variety of angry snacks. Pears, bananas, apples, you name it. After watching Caballeron sink into the ground in despair for a bit, Ahuizotl decides to help out by destroying the fruit, and sometimes eating them.
It also turns out that Daring Do paid Caballeron in her A.K Yearling disguise, something the guys find out as she's struggling against some restraints while Discord watches her. It's a little tense, but after a small exchange, Discord finds to his delight that Ahuizotl likes Fluttershy (as a friend) for her kind nature. So he leaves and turns the fruit back to normal. The house is still messy though.
The trio end up working together to clean up the mess and though it's a little awkward, they make small conversation. It turns out that Daring Do wanted to try another book collaboration with Caballeron as it did sell pretty well after Ahuizolt published his own book. The men also learnt that Daring Do has been reaching out to the museums where she has placed the artefacts to see if they could be moved to another location.
When asked why, she sheepishly admits that she was going to ask Ahuizolt if he wanted to have all the artefacts she took from him back. She was also going to offer for a museum to be made to store the artefacts so that Ahuizolt could protect them all in one place. A little overwhelmed with the offer, Ahuizolt decides to think on it.
They talk until the moon rises, they were simply discussing the things they saw on travels and the books they published. They had finished cleaning ages ago. Because it would take Ahuizolt and Daring pretty long to get back to their homes, Caballeron offers them to stay the night. Which they do.
That's how far I got fully thinking it through. But I like the idea of Caballeron and Daring Do working together to retrieve artefacts or writing books with Ahuizolt. I want them to slowly (but not slow burn slow) go from associates to friends to lovers.
I also imagine Daring Do being the flirty in the triad, no matter what their relationship status was. This is mostly in reference to Season 4 Episode 4 'Daring Don't, Daring Do'.
