he's giving his answer
listen.
touch starved BUT touch repulsed dream, who can accept (is really into) touching things but isn’t really fond of others touching him on their own accord (especially after all that time he’s spent locked up in the fishbowl), and hob who’s got all the time in the world and just lets dream get used to him and spend time with him however and whenever he wants
and dream who just. comes to hang out with him. initially it’s just them sitting in one room together, a respectable distance between them, either talking or hob just telling him all sorts of things, maybe reading out loud his students’ essays or other literary works, and in time dream gets closer to him. different chairs, then different chairs but closer, then same couch, same armchair, then dream sitting pressed alongside hob’s side, as if simply enjoying his solidity/warmth, until eventually he nuzzles into hob in a way that leaves hob no other choice but to embrace him/put his arm around dream’s shoulders
idk i guess im just a huge fan of non-sexual intimacy between them? literal sleeping together. hob letting dream touch him everywhere he wants, while having nothing but patience and gentle encouragement for him. dream sitting close to hob just to feel the warmth that his body produces. dream lying back to rest against hob, or even just putting his hands on hob’s chest to feel how it expands as he breathes. dream pressing his fingers against the pulsepoint on hob’s wrist bc the steady pulse of hob’s heart calms him down. DREAM FINDING COMFORT IN ALL THE PHYSICAL ASPECTS OF HOB’S HUMANITY.
or just. dream finding comfort in physical closeness and hob giving him all of it, no questions asked.

I felt very sorry for Morpheus, but the snow globe aesthetic was super pretty! <;
Prints and other stuff on my RedBubble and Threadless (I'm Wisesnail on both <: )
it's so bitter to watch how many people are only now realising that the censorship of "morally bad" things will never stop at just the things they personally find repulsive. the problem with morals is that they're not a fixed norm that everyone agrees on and that they're a very easy argument to be used by bigots against marginalised groups. that's why it's dangerous to call for censorship on moral grounds - whose morals exactly?
all you people campaigning for a boycott of ao3, wanting them to censor "bad" content, i am begging you to wake the fuck up and understand that for many people "bad" things include queer people's existence, any form of sexual content, minority-representation and criticism of the government.
don't open the door for them.
“Ao3 needs an algorithm” no it doesn’t, part of the ao3 experience is scrolling through pages of cursed content looking for the one fic you want to read until you get distracted by a summary so cursed that it completely derails your entire search
tom sturridge would probably fall over and die if he was forced to not have sexual tension with his costars
Morpheus: I am the King of Dreams and Nightmares. Everyone: And what about it?
sweet dreams
You don’t appreciate just how good Ao3′s search system is until you try to find something on any other Internet archive.
Don’t take Ao3 for granted, people. It’s so good.
Deeply tempted to write some established-relationship Dreamling fluff (where they're married and got together in 1889 after Dream shockingly used one whole braincell or something) that is just a series of haughty-but-loving-supernatural-husband Dream being forced to attend Hob’s various university work events. (Based on this drawing, obviously. I had needs.)
...I suspect this one-shot may indeed be happening. Also if I ever do write a Rescue Fic, I'm setting it in this verse. BECAUSE:
Hob stumbling into rescuing the Stranger whose name he doesn't even know but to whom he has been powerfully drawn for centuries? GREAT. ICONIC. LEGENDARY. SHOWSTOPPING.
BUT ALSO HAVE YOU CONSIDERED
A HOB WHO KNOWS FULLY WHO MORPHEUS IS, BECAUSE THEY FINALLY GOT TOGETHER IN 1889 ONLY FOR BURGESS TO DO HIS THING IN 1916
NOW HOB’S HUSBAND HAS VANISHED INTO NOWHERE
HOB KNOWS THAT MR. MORPHEUS GADLING IS VERY BEAUTIFUL BUT VERY STUPID
HOB IS POWERED BY WHITE HOT RIGHTEOUS BURNING RAGE TO GET HIS BOO BACK AND ALSO TO KILL BURGESS SUPER DEAD
I'm just saying
👌👌👌
I’m now more powerful than I have been in eons. And yet… You see, until then I’d had a true quest. A purpose beyond my function and then suddenly, it was over, and I felt disappointed. Let down. Empty. Does that make sense? I was so sure that once I got everything back, I‘d feel good. But in some ways I feel worse than when I started. I feel like… nothing.
I find it curious that no one has brought up anorexia, which is, generally speaking, coming from a need for control. Even if Gaiman et al say it’s because he only eats dream food, the general vibe these scenes give me is one of disordered eating. If anyone is prone to going overboard for the sake of control, it’s Dream. And I’m sure as an anthropomorphic personification, he isn’t going to starve to death. But the vibe is there, even if the consequences aren’t.
If nothing else, his insistence on self denial is deeply sad to me. More so when you know where the story is heading.

It's kinda like teamwork, that's sweet
