Venting here because I needed a place to vent that my friends would not see. But when did it become a fucking trend to not open gifts at a baby shower? Am I the only one who thinks this is fucking rude? I spent all this time and money picking out a gift for you and now you’re not gonna open it in front of me? like I’m a broke ass fucking teacher. And I dropped a good 40+ dollars on this gift. And now I don’t even get to see you enjoying it. I’m so fucking mad. I just went to a baby shower and picked out a cute little outfit that had little socks with unicorns on them and I was so excited for her to hold them up and everyone to go “aww”! But then I get there and there’s a fucking sign at the front door saying we will not be opening gifts because we want to focus on spending time with guests. Like I just think that is so fucking rude. Had I known that she was not going to open gifts, I would’ve picked out stuff from her registry that she really needed like baby creams and what not. But I picked out a cute little outfit because I thought that would be something fun to open at a baby shower I just cannot believe this is a trend now. Am I the only one who thinks this is rude? And the top it off I thought “oh OK she wants to spend time with us so they will probably be a lot of fun games.” Nope not a fucking single game. Baby showers suck nowadays. And I just can’t get over how selfish people are to not open gifts in front of the guests. If they’re worried about guests not liking sitting there watching you open gifts well then the guests can leave. Because that’s what you fucking do at a baby shower. I’m just so mad about it and I had to fucking vent somewhere. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.
