Othercon 2025 has ended!

Special thanks to everyone who attended, and to all of our volunteers. It was an amazing weekend! The server's member count peaked at 667 members, and we managed to raise $1085 USD for charity!

Othercon 2025

Othercon is the first ever annual 3-day virtual convention for members of the Otherkin, Therian, and general Alterhuman/Nonhuman community.

Othercon's schedule for 2025 is now available! By default the times are shown in the US Eastern timezone, but can be changed near the top where it says "Date and time is shown in (UTC -05:00) America/New_York".

Our official website has been updated (othercon.org), you can now queue up for this year's server! All you have to do is click "join server" near the bottom of the homepage and it will start pending.

The results are in, and our server mascot for this year is the cave dragon: The Olm!

Theme and charity news

Unlike the banner says, it is no longer our 5th anniversary (it hasn't been updated yet). Instead, this year's theme centers around wildlife conservation and protecting endangered species! Here are our chosen charities for this year:

Wildlife Conservation Network

"WCN is helping conservationists protect endangered wildlife across every continent. Our 100% model ensures that any donation designated for a specific species goes directly to the conservationists protecting that species, with zero overhead taken out."

Association of Zoos and Aquariums

"AZA-accredited zoos and aquariums are leaders in the protection of threatened and endangered species. Through AZA SAFE: Saving Animals from Extinction, the entire AZA-accredited zoo and aquarium community is focusing our conservation science, wildlife expertise, and outreach to millions of annual visitors on saving species in the wild."

Wasn't expecting to find a good "explanation" for what I "am", beyond whatever I feel like playing around as, on the vs. battle wiki of all places. But I'm not complaining. I always hated trying to explain myself, because words are limiting and it pisses me off. 😭

I slonked the dragons for no other purpose besides, it was fun and I love creating identities/scenarios/whatever and fucking around like a child playing pretend in their bedroom because being omnipotent gets boring. Being "evil" or "the hero", etc like im playing a role in a story is fun for me.....but definitely not fun for those im putting through my nonsense. Yeah sure, I could fix things easy. But I gotta keep up my act of being a limited being for funsies......or maybe I just forgot I could because I was too in character. Oopsie 🥰

I guess I better understand why I don't feel impressed when others brag about how strong they are, because I don't care. Let's play extreme patty-cake instead, that's more interesting and entertaining than powerscaling.
