Daily Tarot August 13, 2016 (Saturday)
Today’s card is The Queen of Swords. Before I pulled the card, I saw an image of rain falling on a rose. Spirit told me that the rain is important, otherwise the rose wouldn’t grow. Sometimes we all go through a “rainy” season in our life, but it’s through the rain that we really find out who we are. Life is filled with moments of joy and moments of disappointments, but its all about how we deal with the disappointments that really build our charater. We really do learn a lot and grow through our disappointments. You are wonderful like the rose, and know that you shall come out even stronger after the rain. You have a wonderful story to tell. I feel like a lot of good can come out of a struggle, I feel like it makes us more understanding and teaches us compassion. The Queen of Swords is all about communication. So, perhaps sharing with others about a struggle you overcome could help them. Let’s all be encouraging and of help through our words. The chakra focus is the heart chakra. I feel like it would be a good day to really open our hearts, let’s not let the rain make us bitter. Sometimes, The Queen of Swords can indicate someone who has been through a lot, and now their heart is guarded. Know that it is ok to open your heart again. Let’s really allow ourselves to trust again, and to open our hearts. much love and many blessings to you all:)

You only lack love when you feel the need to search for love or wait for it. You must simply create love by giving it… and I mean real tangible love… not emoji hearts and likes.

since it’s a scary time to be trans: refuge restrooms is an app which maps gender-neutral/single-stall restrooms. it’s community-mapped, so it’s possible you might be the first person to log the restroom locations, but hopefully it’ll help some people.
please reblog this post if you’ve got trans followers. stay safe.
Stand before your mirror with courage Clouds don’t apologize for being soft Mountains don’t shrink for smaller entities Narrow trees do not swell because they are too thin You’re nature incarnate. Do not apologize. You exist. You are valid.

Here's a thing you can do for Prince
Be a little weirder, be a little more you. Wear yr hair that one way nobody else likes. Shave – or skip it – if it makes you feel free. Tell the joke when it strikes you, sing with your headphones on the train, compliment a stranger – the way you’d want to be complimented if someone found they were suddenly in love with you.
The most purple thing we can do is to be wholly ourselves, even if doing that thing is a little scarier or a little harder.
Harriet Tubman by Pylo Interesting Facts about Harriet Tubman: 1. Harriet Tubman was born Araminta Ross. She would later adopt the name “Harriet” after her mother: Harriet Ross. The surname Tubman comes from her first husband, John Tubman, who she married in 1844. 2. Harriet earned the nickname “Moses” after the prophet Moses in the Bible who led his people to freedom. In all of her journeys she “never lost a single passenger.” 3. Harriet wore many hats: She was an active proponent of women’s suffrage and worked alongside women such as side Susan B. Anthony. During the civil war, Harriet also worked for the Union Army as a cook, a nurse and even a spy. 4. Harriet was acquainted with leading abolitionists of the day, including John Brown who conferred with “General Tubman” about his plans to raid Harpers Ferry. 5. Harriet had one daughter, Gertie, whom she and her second husband (Nelson Davis) adopted after the Civil war. 6. Harriet suffered life-long headaches, seizures and had vivid dreams as a result of a traumatic head injury she suffered as a teenager while trying to stand up for a fellow field hand. These same symptoms gave her powerful visions that she ascribed to God and helped guide her on many trips to the North while leading others to freedom. 7. Just before Harriet’s death in 1913 she told friends and family, “I go to prepare a place for you.” She was buried with military honors in Fort Hill Cemetery in New York.

“What Cats Do”

Some people survive and talk about it. Some people survive and go silent. Some people survive and create. Everyone deals with unimaginable pain in their own way, and everyone is entitled to that, without judgement. So the next time you look at someone’s life covetously, remember…you may not want to endure what they are enduring right now, at this moment, whilst they sit so quietly before you, looking like a calm ocean on a sunny day. Remember how vast the ocean’s boundaries are. Whilst somewhere the water is calm, in another place in the very same ocean, there is a colossal storm.

My First Alter!
As a child I would see them tucked into little corners of a few of my family members homes. However I never really knew exactly what it was. i just thought it was a display or decorations. Within the last year I’ve experienced an significant expansion in my spiritual knowledge and alters began to present themselves to me. Pictures of these BEAUTIFUL alters would frequently appear on my Instagram (especially after I made the awesome decision to follow the hood witch) and on my twitter time line.
I knew I needed one!
But my laze and cheapness got in the way for a while. I didn’t want to spend the money to buy things for it because for some odd reason I thought that it would be expensive. I also didn’t feel like finding the store. I know of plenty spiritual stores around my home in metro Detroit but Lansing? No way. At first I wasn’t even sure if it would be one up here. But once I did some googling I found Triple Goddess Bookstore in Downtown Lansing.
I went to Triple Goddess with no real expectations. I just knew that I wanted to make an alter and that I was going to let spirit guide me to what I need to get - and it did. I bought a smudge stick and and a smudge bowl, ground lavender, a couple of crystal chips and a rose quartz. A few days later after cleansing everything via the sun I constructed my alter.
It was a great experience to truly follow my spirit without question. It seems like even in just a week the alter has extensively opened up my spiritual connection. Especially after I put my grandfathers chain in the alter. Positive energy radiates from my room now.
