Important Update from DIY Fashion!

Hello everyone! I wanted to update you guys on the blog and talk about an important topic that hits close to home. As many of you have noticed, the blog has been inactive for a couple of years, but I have good news! I will be starting it up again and posting the submissions many of you have contributed during my absence!! I have not forgotten about you! I am sorry it has taken so long for me to respond to your inquiries and post your ingenious DIY tutorials. You guys are awesome and I want to continue sharing your ideas! Which brings me to my important announcement related directly to why I have been gone for so long. I have been working diligently on a campaign called #EndTheStigma that aims to spread awareness and put an end to the social stigma surrounding mental health. The reason why I haven't been posting is because I myself have been struggling with major depressive disorder. Because of my disorder, I started to neglect all of the things that used to bring me joy, including DIY Fashion. Fortunately, I am starting to get better and I finally have the motivation to kickstart the blog once again.

DIY: Beaded Jean Cuff!

It’s DIY time!

This DIY is great for sprucing up an old pair of jeans or to just add some bling to your favorite pair! You can add studs or use colored beads or thread to add some extra edge! Don’t forget you can try this out on the cuff of a jean jacket or shirt or try beading the collar. Your options are unlimited, so get creative!

This is an extremely easy, fast fashion DIY! All you need is an old sweater and some studs. Very carefully place the studs in the "holes" of the knit, to avoid ripping of the fabric. Be creative, use different colored studs, make patterns etc... I'm very minimalistic so mine turned out like this :) what do you think?

You need a pair of round nose and side cutter pliers to do this project with ease, but they're definitely worth the investment if you intend on making more custom jewelry! DIY Lace Collar T-shirt

Everyone's wearing the collared shirt trend, whether their blouse features a rounded collar, a scalloped collar, or an increasingly popular Peter Pan collar. This tutorial by Manuela of Join the Mood gives a simple t-shirt the same effect as a collared shirt by lining the neck of the tee with a thick strip of decorative lace. This simple idea from A Beautiful Mess can take any piece of solid material and turn it into a custom print through the use of handmade stamps! In this tutorial (found here), a solid white dress is transformed with a quirky and cute pony print. You can be as creative as you want and create custom t-shirts, shorts, pillows, rugs, wall art, etc. The possibilities are endless!

Any Pepsi lovers out there? Here's a tutorial that puts your love for Pepsi in jewelry form. Cami of You Seriously Made That? shows us how to make these adorable Pepsi logo earrings using a couple of recycled Pepsi cans and some Mod Podge Dimensional Magic. Not a fan of Pepsi? No problem! DIY Wrapped Bangle

A twist on the friendship bracelet trend = turn it into a bangle! All you need is embroidery thread, scissors, and any bangle. Start by knotting the string around the bangle, and simply alternate colors as you wrap the thread around the bracelet.
