Over this past weekend, I finally had chance to have Jason, Richy, and some other friends over to get a game of Kings of War [...]
This game was a ton of fun to play in.
Had a chance to play a game of Age of Sigmar, it's been a good while since Ive played much of anything. I managed to win this scenario even though the vast majority of Bretonnian forces were obliterated. Chaos has some mighty tough units and if this was just a straight up fight, i don't know that I would have pulled out a victory.
Chris Walsh’s Kings of War 2 Forces of Nature army from the Northern Regional round of the UK Clash of Kings 2015 competition.
Absolutely stunning. KoW has no individual figure removal, along with mandated “footprints” for unit sizes so each unit can be a diorama in itself which is what has been done here.
So then, Age of Sigmar, planning on looking this good?
This is a super creatively themed army for Kings of War, I wish my armies looked half as good!
Sunken Cottage VI: paint and flocking.
And generally finishing the whole thing. When the weather turns overcast again I’ll take it out for a proper photo shoot. Until then, here a few shots from in the house.
Another great example of making your own terrain. Well done!
The Ardent Artist, Gripenhem
The attention to detail on this is amazing. Awesome work.
I had the opportunity to go visit some friends out in Madison who host regular Warhammer 30k Horus Heresy events. One of the neatest parts about this is that it’s got a painting requirement a…
Had a fun time hanging out with some friends who had a great game of 30k in Madison Wisconsin this weekend, here’s some of the photo’s I took!
Here’s some recent pictures I posted on Lostdice.com
They couldn't have rolled far!
So I haven’t been posting much on DIY Terrain as of late, mostly due to time and other commitments (namely two young children). For now, i’ve been writing over at lostdice.com with some friends about similar stuff to what I’ve been posting about before. DIY Terrain is going to be idle for now until I can get some more time on my hands to make some neat posts and take neat pictures. Lost Dice has the advantage of having some friends be involved too, so it’s not just me posting anymore! =)
I haven't had time in way to long to work on miniatures. I left my undead army almost completely assembled minus these two guys and some cavalry. I still need to fix some green stuffs but the dragon is a rescue from at least 4 full coats of paint. this is an older 90s GW dragon, which one, I can't recall. The undead elephant is an even older grenedier miniature. both are based for kings of war and will hopefully see some time on the table....probably in 2017....
Haven't posted or played or done anything hobby related in s good long while. Got a game of Age of Sigmar and a few rounds of Warhammer Quest in today.
Got to play through a few more dungeon saga scenarios today. bad guys actually one a round due to an amazing roll. Hopefully the fixed up Adventurers guide is ready for our next round of games!
Whoa
So since I haven't been posting much anywhere or doing much of anything hobby related since I now have two small children, I noticed I'm way over 300 followers here on tumblr. That's kinda nuts. Those of you who did decide to follow, thanks a ton, it makes it feel like I'm not just posting it online for no-one to see, but rather a group of people that are genuinely interested in miniatures and tabletop gaming.
Finally had a bit of time to do some painting. this unit of Immortal Guard is nearing completion. This along with the newly built Iron Caster are the last few things to finish for this army. I have a few units that need basing done and a few that need to be washed/dipped, but this army has really come together over the years. I can't wait to take some army shots with them all together.
Got my first rounds of Dungeon Saga in today. It was a good time and the heroes had one close call. I can't wait to play through some more scenarios in the future.
Progress! albeit slowed way down for now since Kid #2 was born last week. It's strange trying to find time to sleep, deal with kids, and do a little hobby stuff.
Progress! also moving on to different shades of brown and grey instead of browns and green! seeing a couple of tiles painted and together feels like I've gotten somewhere.
I am pretty sure that this post will look the same as another post I made last week. If you think that's the case, you're pretty much right on. more brown and green base coats done on the tiles. I spent a large amount of time getting the brown I had working in my airbrush, cause it was one of those large tube acrylics you find at hobby stores. by the time I got that working well and had s good mix it was for sure faster to do the same process with a brush. either way I learned some things this time around.
