Moody, creepy, sad vibes resonating with me today in this piece. But there’s light coming from the heart because no matter how the darkness tries to get inside, the light will always triumph. For me, that’s God. I probably took this piece way deeper than the originals were meant to be but it was cathartic. This was kinda a double #drawthisinyourstyle inspired by @airinhtoday and @joriouxdraws combined. Our whole family has been laid up sick for a couple weeks so I’m just now getting back to drawing at the desk finally! Had to warm up and finish this piece I sketched for my youngest a while back. It was supposed to be for her first birthday in December! She’s an animal lover and her name is Juniper so I’m always drawn to all things wild whenever I make or buy things for her. My daughter has a fever and I still don’t have an iPad Pro 😩(woe to me) so I played with these Japanese colored pencils while @joeldrawsandwrites worked at the Cintiq for @joelandashleyillustration. So... I unintentionally jumped ship on #mermay AND #the100dayproject... then disappeared for about 5 months. Oops! Two things: I got pregnant and was at the most sick point around May. And we wrapped up illustrating an entire book for a publisher under a tight deadline, plus a ton of other smaller jobs at @joelandashleyillustration.
