Vacation Destination | Yuriful Week 2026 Day 1 - Beach, Ocean, Sea, Sunset

Summary: Arlefuri. Yuriful Week 2026 Day 1. Natlan has been open since the Traveler's visit, and many of their tourist destinations have been revitalized. Both Furina and Arlecchino have been worked to the bone. A trip to Natlan's famous hot springs and beach was a lovely idea to unwind.

((Arle is more gender-nonconforming in this fic. She uses she/her and they/them pronouns and has had top surgery. I'll use she/her for this fic, but I did want to write her with more gnc attributes for this.))

The afternoon's searing heat broke as the sun lowered to the horizon's edge.

Furina sighed, stepping out of the warm sea spray and touching her toes to the rapidly cooling sand. Water ran down her body, rolling from her shoulders, down her navy-blue one-piece swimsuit, dripping off the light-blue ruffles around her waist, and soaked her legs. Now that the heat had broken, she could leave the water and step over the sand without burning her bare feet.

Other tourists and Natlanese people littered the beach. Umbrellas and towels clustered around areas, groups and families basking in the salty air. Shouts and cheers echoed from certain spots, and multiple people rode the ocean waves on borrowed surfboards. Everywhere one looked, there was fun being had, creating a relaxing atmosphere for everyone in attendance.

It was the perfect place Furina and the children had picked for their vacation.

Turning her gaze back to the water, the actress waved to the House of the Hearth children. "I'm going to sit down at our spots. Come back in soon, okay? The sun is going down, and the water will get icy cold once it's gone. I don't want any of you getting sick."

Some of the younger children rolled their eyes, but the adults smiled and nodded their heads. Lyney threw the ball he had been holding, then bowed theatrically. "I'll have them out before it gets to that, Miss Furina."

Lynette, standing across from him and holding the ball, rolled her eyes at that.

"Thank you, dear Lyney." Furina waved to the rest of the group. "Be safe, and keep an eye out for Freminet. He should come back from his dive within the hour."

A chorus of 'Yes, Miss Furina' met her ears. Satisfied with the answer, Furina nodded and stepped back to the House of the Hearth's beach spots.

Her summons were already at the set-up, snuggled together on Furina's spread out towel. Mademoiselle Crabaletta, as always, snoozed at the center. Gentlhome Usher and Sunntendante Chevalmann laid against her, using the crab as a sturdy support. A bubble grew and shrank from the seahorse's snout. Gentlhome Usher's tentacles twitched, utterly lost to the sensations of his dream.

Warm flutters filled Furina's chest at the sight of them. She sighed, eyeing the summons fondly. If she wanted to sit on her towel, she would have to disturb their sleep.

Quietly, Furina moved to the red towel next to her blue one. Smiling as she sat, the actress cozied herself next to the sleeping watery animals.

She didn't have to wake them up just yet...

Furina turned, reaching to the basket at her right. Under several bottles of sun protection, a little first-aid kit, and toys for the younger children sat her latest read. She eased the crime novel out, minding the volume of her actions.

The summons next to her didn't stir.

Flipping over to her bookmark, she picked up where she last left off. It was still early in the novel, but with how many court cases she had sat through over the past centuries, Furina already had a good idea who was responsible. Unless another character stepped in that acted as suspiciously as the sister of the victim, she couldn't see anyone else as the perpetrator.

This would make a good film... Add in a few tweaks to the dialogue and...

No, she didn't need to think about her next project. For the time she was on vacation, Furina would live in the moment, savoring the time spent with the people she cared for.

Heterochromatic blue eyes lifted and glanced at the House's wards in the water. Three of the young children sat on the wet sand, scooping up material for a sandcastle. Lyney and Lynette threw their ball to other adults, but all of them kept their eyes trained on other people swimming around them and their distance to the younger wards.

The corners of Furina's mouth quirked up. Another content sigh left her body, relaxing the muscles in her body.

"Enjoying yourself, chérie?"

Furina startled, then pressed a hand to her chest. "Oh, yes," she said, keeping her voice low. She laid her book over her lap. "I recently left the water, but everyone is behaving and enjoying our time at the beach."

Arlecchino stooped under the umbrella, holding a ribbon-wrapped box in one hand. Black fingers ran down her ponytail, tucking the long strands over her shoulder. Easing herself onto the same towel, the Harbinger sat close to her lover, letting her swim trunks press against Furina's bare thigh.

"I assume you're staying quiet for the animals."

"Of course. How could I wake such lovely creatures?" Furina glanced at them, moving her free hand to rest against one cheek. "It would be a criminal act to do such a thing. How could I have been in charge of the Nation of Justice if I disobeyed the laws of nature?"

The ghost of a smile appeared on Arlecchino's face. "Well, I will take your approach then," she said, words at the same volume as Furina's. "You do know more than me when it comes the care of your animals."

Silence, easy and calm, settled between them. They watched the sinking sun and the laughing children. More people herded together on the beach, setting up what looked like torches and a DJ booth.

Pinks, purples, oranges, and dark blues swathed the sky above them. A few early stars twinkled into existence. The moon hung over the Springs, bathing the resort in moonlight yet to come.

"I got this for you," Arlecchino said, placing the box on top of Furina's book. "I hope you like it, chérie."

Furina hummed, curiosity peaked, and unwrapped the ribbons. Handing the ribbons to Arlecchino, she lifted the box's cover to find little frosted cookies, all of them baked in the shapes of Natlan's Saurians.

"It isn't cake," Arlecchino said. She dropped the ribbons into the basket. "They didn't have any cakes on display, but I found these in the snack shop. I bought them for you, though with dinner coming soon, I would advise saving some of them for later."

Heat touched Furina's cheeks. "These are lovely..." Mischief prickled under her skin, and she pushed her bottom lip up in a dramatic pout. "Surely, I can eat them all before dinner. There aren't that many, and I doubt these cookies would spoil my appetite..."

"Unfortunately, chérie, I won't let it get to that point." A rare, humorous tone painted Arlecchino's words. "It would set a terrible example for the children letting your sweet tooth ruin dinner for you."

Just to play up the drama, Furina huffed and turned up her chin. Then, her fingers nabbed one of the cookies, quickly bringing the sweet treat to her lips.

Dark eyes stayed trained on her, and a soft chuckle hovered over the space between them.

Furina chewed, brightening at the sugar rushing into her body. "Did you enjoy the hot springs?" she asked, brushing stray crumbs from her cheek. "I know you've been looking forward to the heat since the start of our trip."

The Harbinger hummed. "They were acceptable. The springs were hot, though I didn't find a pool that reached the heat I wanted. None of them were at the temperature to make me sweat. For you and the children, many of them would wear you all out, but they bared affected me." She leaned back on her hands, tensing the thick muscles in her arms. "I seem to operate at a different heat tolerance than anyone else I know of."

"I'm sorry to hear that."

"It is fine. Being here with you and the children is more than enough."

The sun sank lower down the horizon. A quarter of the giant light peeked out over the skyline.

"This was nice..." Arlecchino gestured to the wards still in the water, watching them coax Freminet out of the water. "We have all been working hard lately. More than a few of the children looked as worn out as you did. Your idea to visit this nation after the Traveler opened the borders was... good..."

Furina broke off another piece of her cookie, humming thoughtfully in response.

"You know how to take care of the children's emotional needs better than I have and could do." Keeping her eyes trained on the sunset, Arlecchino lowered her voice to a whisper. "You have made a fine addition to the House of the Hearth."

Arlecchino was not one to openly express softer emotions, but Furina knew how to read between the lines of her lover's words.

You nurture the family I would move the heavens for, and I'm glad to have you in my life.

The actress laid her right hand over Arlecchino's left one. Both of them shifted closer together as the sun finally disappeared. Furina leaned her head against the Harbinger's shoulder, thankful for the heat Arlecchino radiated off of her body.

The road to their relationship had been a long and rocky one, but it was one Furina was happy she took.

"Father! Father! Father!"

A chorus of calls rose from the children. They hurried up the sand, waving shells, carrying water toys, and shivering from the colder temperatures.

"I believe our time together has come to an end for now," Arlecchino hummed.

Furina sighed, pushing her head harder against Arlecchino's shoulder. "Five more minutes," she mumbled. "I was just starting to doze."

"Unfortunately, chérie, you'll need to rest your eyes later. It's time for dinner."

Furina groaned. "Must you torture me? I am far too exhausted to pack everything up and trek my way to the communal dinner table." She stayed quiet, waiting for what she wanted.

Arlecchino sighed, a fond exasperation in the sound. "Shall I carry you to the table, Lady Furina?"

"Well, I wouldn't say no to that..."

The Harbinger pulled away, lifting Furina's waist and moving her off the towel. Black hands rolled up the towel and scooped up the basket. With little trouble, Arlecchino's hands hooked under Furina's knees and lower back. She hoisted the other woman up, tucking the towel roll onto Furina's stomach, and let Furina arrange her arms to what made her most comfortable.

The children broke into the scene, startling the animals out of sleep. Activity fluttered around the space. Adults packed up towels and umbrellas, and children carried the lighter items in their small arms, including Furina's cookie box and book. Excited chatter about dinner and how tasty it was going to be filled the air.

"Father, why is Miss Furina getting carried?"

"She's quite exhausted from the day," Arlecchino said. "After dinner, she will most likely retire to our lodgings for added rest."

With Arlecchino's warmth seeping into her limbs, the heat just as warm as it would be under a blanket, Furina had no doubt the Harbinger was right about a post-dinner sleep. The sun and active ocean play had worn her body out more than she expected.

"Come, dinner should be at the table now. Once we're done, you may attend the beachside celebrations or talk with the musicians with a chaperone close by. Everyone should be in bed when the moon is a quarter-high. Do I make myself clear?"

"Yes, Father."

Furina's eyes stayed closed. Her forearm brushed against Arlecchino's surgery scars and chest muscles, and her other arm fell from the Harbinger's right shoulder to dangle midair. Watery tentacles slipped her shoes back onto her feet. The younger children continued talking, words rushing out of their mouths, as they narrated their day to their father.

Furina wouldn't have traded the moment for anything else.

AN: I realized halfway through that this could have been an Arlefuri Mermaid AU, but I started writing these stories at the last minute, so... Ten days to write seven stories and edit them all before they get posted throughout the event week... I would've loved to do more for this, but for now, I'm going to let this be some beach fluff for these two.

Yuriful week Day 1

Time Taken: 1 Day (3 Hours)

Fandom: Gachiakuta

Characters: Genderbent Jabber and Genderbent Zanka.

Content: Lesbian fluff, Modern AU, Playfighting, Playful splashing, Swimming, Fem! Zanka being scared of water lol, Harmless pranks, Non-sexual Chokeholds, Kinda comedic.

"Hold still so I can give you your sunscreen!" Zanka grunted, having to put her girlfriend in a chokehold to keep her still. Jabber, on the other hand, writhed around in her arms, already wanting to get in the water. "Miss bad Attitude, I dont need this!" She complained as Zanka wiped sunscreen all over her face. "I need a little tan anyway."

Zanka simply shook her head, giving Jabber's forehead a gentle tap. "Done." She sighed, laying back down on her beach towel. Jabber ran off to the water excitedly like a child. That made Zanka laugh a little. "Be careful, Jab!"

Zanka stared past Jabber and out to the sapphire blue ocean. The salty smell of the water filling her nostrils. The sounds of the waves crashing against each other and the sandy shore. The sunset almost coating it all in darkness. It all felt so calm and peaceful, almost making her eyelids heavy with sleep.

"Zanka?"

Well, almost, but oh well.

"Hm?" Zanka sat up, looking at Jabber, who was soaked in water. "What's up?"

"You ain't getting in the water?" Jabber asked, tilting her head and pointing at the water.

"Nope."

"Seriously?!" Jabber sat beside her, pulling her arm. "Please, Zanka-Baby!"

"No! I don't like water." Zanka rolled her eyes and yanked her arm away from her girlfriend.

Jabber stood up, grabbed a bucket, and ran off.

Finally, she gave up. Zanka thought to herself as she put on a pair of pink sunglasses. Wait, pink? Zanka thought, realizing she accidentally took Jabber's sunglasses which she switched to putting on her blue ones.

Peace and quiet at-

Suddenly, something cold and wet hit her. She shrieked, jolting off her beach towel. "WHAT THE FUCK?!" Zanka hollered, looking around at who did it.

The Culprit already stood there, laughing in her face. "OH MY GOD! YOU JUMPED LIKE A FUCKING CAT!"

Zanka's face went red with embarrassment, and anger. "You think thats funny?!" She grabbed a fistful of sand and ran at her. "I'll show you something funny!"

Jabber ran off, still laughing, but yelling back at Zanka. "Come catch me, Miss Bad Attitude!"

Zanka threw the sand behind Jabber, missing her completely. Soon, she laughed as well while she chased Jabber, all that anger fading away. "Get back here you jerk!"

Soon, the rest of their evening consisted of the two girls chasing each other for about ten minutes until they decided to head back to their hotel.

These two have a ways to go to know each other, and with six more poses to go, they'll have plenty of time. Luckily Fy'ra had an island all to herself so she and Halmarut can enjoy every moment together. Where could she take the pair next?
