Why is no one talking about what happened in São Paulo yesterday?

The sky turned completely black around three in the afternoon partly because of smoke coming from the Amazon rainforest, WHICH IS 2300 KILOMETERS AWAY FROM THE CITY, where the government has greatly increased the amount of land being burned for profit. People are getting sick, animals are dying, native territory is being lost to the flames.

This is what the sky looked like in my city yesterday, in the early afternoon.

It got so dark so fast the city had to turn on the lamp posts and night lighting.

im reblogging this again because last time i did i didnt say this?? idk 

in my freshman english class i would often draw while my teacher was talking about shakespeare, and i got detention on multiple occasions because of it. with the same thing: “you’re drawing, so you’re not listening” (which,,,,isn’t true??) and after my teacher would give me detention (im a student who almost never gets in trouble kinda and i get super embarassed when i do i cry when teachers yell at me yikes) 

usually the punishment would just be to clean her class during lunch (which was the period after english for me) but as soon as the bell rang she would act gracious and basically say “because i’m feeling nice today, you dont need to do detention. Just pick up those wrappers/tissues/etc over there and you can go” 

in short my freshman english teacher was an old white racist lady (boy i have hella stories from me and several student’s who’ve had her) and that class sucked ass
