2020 definitely taught me a few lessons 2020 started off like clockwork bringing New Years in with a bang djing the countdown at my resident club, it was at this moment I knew I was going to put more energy and time into djing and do less recreational things. My goals were set to take my djing to the next level to share my passion for djing and the love of music. I needed to do this to take me to my Mecca (I still don’t know what it is) Weeks and early months pass by my bookings get busier, to the point I’m double booked with club, corporate & private gigs. Weddings & Birthdays is a whole different story!!! They were like swarming in, I couldn’t keep up that I had to pass them on to my fellow DJ’s. It was amazing and tiresome at the same time. Djing 5 nights a week and sometimes 2 gigs on some nights. Rest was important and when I say rest I mean, back looking for new music and building my sets to give it backbone so I’m confident when I Dj and be prepared for open format style clubs. My life changed on Monday 23 March 2020 Covid19 was in NZ and the country went into Level 4 lockdown. As a Dj this was like the end of the world... anxiety kicked in and my dreams just vanished into thin air like Thanos had clicked his fingers I went through my diary and looked at my bookings and started canceling gigs, as I was doing this the worry and anxiety just worsened I had to do something and do something quick! So I replace cancelled gigs with Djing in studio as I would in a club keeping my routine. This gave me opportunity to practice and clean up my music. On my nights off from djing in the studio I would chill with my partner and have a wine and cook together. Then we discovered twitch streaming DJ’s!!! This just made sense!!! Stream my studio days that are themed, just all fell into place. The rest is history... I couldn’t have done it without my beautiful partner @itsphatkat who supports my Djing, keeping me confident, my family for continuing to push me to be better at living life with no hate in my heart.
