I prefer my hanahaki chronic instead of outright fatal… that being said, some people DO die of it, either because they choke on a flower or theres too much blood. So not necessarily fatal but pretty fucking risky still

Anyway Steddie hanahaki where Steve is hiding his condition from everyone for going on a year until one day no one can get ahold of him so they break into his house to find him passed out, struggling to breathe around a cluster of flowers he couldn’t quite cough up

Everyone but Robin thinks the flowers are about Nancy of course but no one will listen to her or Steve when they say it’s someone else because Steve refuses to tell who it is and Robin won’t betray her friends trust

Eddie crying and asking Steve to just confess to whoever it is, still thinking it’s Nancy but unable to see his crush hurting so much

“No, I can’t risk loosing them.”

“Steve, you nearly died!”

“I’ll be more careful.”

“Steve-“

“Please Eds, just drop it. Please?”
