About Jason Carne

Mainframe Media is the alias I began my freelance graphic design career under in early 2007. Previously I had been attending school for a degree in Architectural Engineering at the Wentworth Institure of Techonology in Boston, Massachusetts -- however, something told me that my original passion in art was my true caling and I left school to pursue a path towards a career in design.

The act of being "taught" how to be an artist always felt silly and counter-productive to my creative process and generally stiff in its lack of ability to instill true inspiration within me. I decided early on that I wanted to teach myself everything I possibly could on my own to ensure that my approach and style was completely my own and not a by product of tepid standardized education being served to batches of aspiring young artists. Nothing is more gratifying than learning a trade you truly love and have high regard for by your own doing and seeing your efforts come to fruition because of your continued personal dedication to it.

In the five years I've been doing this work, I've seen great personal strides in my ability as a graphic designer and I've learned much about the industry along the way. I've had the pleasure of working alongside international musicians and touring artists such as Def Leppard, Protest The Hero, and Boyce Avenue as well as receiving great oppurtunities with global apparel corporations like American Eagle Outfitters. This is my dream job and I could not imagine doing anything else for a living -- getting paid to make beautiful things and work with other creative professionals on a daily basis is an amazing thing to be able to say I do for a living, and I'm proud to say I do it.
