The Great Revolve
It is times for the old gods to ascend and be replaced. One goddess is willing to go but she can't until her siblings agree to as well. The party must go to the gods and defeat or appease them in order to stop the world from going to ruin under their erratic whims.
•one to four gods to defeat depending on your time limits
•each God can be fought or have some sort of quest tied to them
•be careful timewise when I ran it it became a mini-campaign
Would you be willing to make some sea harbor related prompts?
After losing a battle with another pirate crew the party wakes up cast ashore knowing little other than the fact the other crew will soon be coming to finish the job. They have three days to gather weapons gold and a ship in order to prepare for their final battle.
Possible ideas include:
A tired fisherman who is ready to retire but doesn't know who'd take care of his business
A powerful city guard trying to hunt them down all the while
A siren calling out to them claiming to have pizza and gold all in exchange for but a nights company
This one can go anywhere from funny shenanigans to an absolute murderfest. Have fun!
The Druids Circle
It'd been some time since the forest had last met a band of wanderers. Long abandoned and lonely it was desperate for life. It had long ago been fled the creatures within too terrified of it's dark all encompassing presence to remain for too long; to afraid of what the Druids had done.
The party hadn't meant to enter. But one wrong turn and several hours of bickering led them to the forest edge. The forests sweet smell and warm atmosphere led them deeper to a nice clearing. The brook nearby gently babbled as they set up camp and they couldn't help but to feel relaxed.
Unfortunately, though by camping the party had inadvertently given the forest hope that maybe it wouldn't be alone anymore and now, desperate to hold onto it's new friends, the forest began setting up little "games" to keep them in place. Can the party get through the games and undo what the Druids have done in time? That's up to you it would seem.
The Manor Fun House
the players awake with little memory in the living room of a manor. a mysterious figure informs them that they can leave, but they have to play the figure’s game’s first. Even death keeps them stuck, so if they die, they awake in a grave in the back garden and dig themselves out. The mansion is on a cliff face and a thick fog surrounds the manor.
Have the players cycle through rooms of monsters, puzzles, riddles, and npc’s to collect ‘keys’ to escape the manor.
Time Loop One Shot
The players visit a town (or already live there) where some people are acting crazy, saying how they died yesterday but there have been 6 yesterdays so far.
Apparently it’s true, and the day keeps resetting at midnight. You only remember the other time-looped-days IF you died in a previous time-looped-day. It can make for some fun RPing, and of players doing stupid life-risking things cuz “we’ll im just gunna come back tomorrow.”
In order to stop the time loop, it becomes a mystery/detective case to solve and fix the town.
The party comes to rest at a small town for the night. However, mid-harassment, the town watch disappears.
As the day (or night) goes on, once all of the people in town flash out of existence, more signs of life disappear. Names from graves and mail boxes, any differences between one house and the next.
Perhaps certain villagers last longer than others, or perhaps old tomes hidden away under the alchemist’s house may explain what is causing space to rewrite, or repurpose, the residents, residence, and history of the town.
I know you haven't posted a whole lot of prompts yet, but I love the idea of this blog, and I love the prompts you have put up so far!! I'm preparing for my first real time as a DM, and I would love to see more!
I'm glad to hear your excited and starting up soon! We haven't been able to do a ton because both us mods are in college but do look forward to more posts soon!
The Drunken Pact
The party awakens with terrible hangovers in an inn. Upon getting up and ready they discover strange marks on their hands. As it turns out the previous night while celebrating a recent victory a person approached them requesting to make a deal. In their drunken state the party must have agreed and now they have made a blood pacts with a person they can't even remember. What's the blood pact? What are the consequences? Can the party fulfill their end of the deal before time runs out?
Potential pacts:
Agreed to get the local witch to stop turning children they don’t like into goblins
Agreed to convince the king communism is the answer for all his problems
Would evacuate a lair of all it’s goblins so a miner themed roller coaster could be built inside
Establish peace between the goblin and rat kings
To be clear, I played in Mod Vix’s Fae Forest one shot.
Easily the most stressed I’ve been in dnd outside of a campaign.
The Fae Forest
The party mysteriously awakens in a fae forest. Not knowing where they are or who each other are they must escape the forest, hopefully with their lives in tact. In order to do so they must follow the rules across magical bridges and seemingly friendly strangers.
As it turns out the party was kidnapped by a bored forest God who in the meantime is constantly working to mess with the party and make them suffer.
Example rules:
Do not give your name away else something may use it.
Bridges are sacred. Treat them as such.
Memorize your path. The landscape may shift.
All that seems human or normal rarely is.
Cat God and the Snow Globe Dimension
An evil cat god has trapped the party inside a snow globe! Everything is fake but there are a few things hidden within that are real. In order to escape the party must figure out what’s real and what isn’t in order to unlock doors and find their way out of the cat’s massive puzzle.
