long, rambly, very not-at-all-vague vagueblog under the cut bc i’ve got some shit to get off my chest

somebody i was friends with a couple years ago in the br.oadway rpc has been making the rounds again and seeing their url has got me in a weird funk. i don’t want to tell people not to interact wih her/choose between us, but seeing her around my friends is still making me hella uncomfortable and i hate it, especially since she’s still playing the same oc that was involved in so much of what went wrong with our friendship.

basically, i was on the outskirts of a friend group that seemed to basically revolve around her, and it showed. most of the stuff she and the group did was harmless, but it started to feel a bit stifling and super clique-y, and it was obvious that while i was ‘in’ the friend group, i wasn’t in the friend group. there was a group verse that had major impacts on all of the characters involved that included literally everyone but me.

she also hosted these more public, story-driven tumblr/discord hybrid group verses. they were super fun, and most of the interactions involved in them were great! but even when i felt the most like i was part of the group, she still had to control everything. her actions quickly went from simply creating ic drama by playing a character who’s an asshole, which isn’t inherently bad, to actively disregarding the agency, ideas, or wants of other muses or muns because ‘well my character wanted to do this and it’s my story so i shouldn’t have to ask everyone first.’

and when i called her out for one particularly egregious example of this, she promptly deleted the discord server and proceeded to block me on discord, as well as her then-current tumblr and all subsequent tumblr blogs she created. she was actively avoiding me, and when i asked her about it through a server created by a mutual friend, she said that she was ‘blocking people who made [her] uncomfortable for the sake of [her] mental health’ (or something to that effect), and never responded to any questions about what exactly i had done to make her uncomfortable. and once she had ghosted me, the entire friend group proceeded to do the same, even though i had done absolutely nothing to them.

aaaand now she’s back, seemingly not having changed at all, and for whatever reason seems to be finding all of my completely unconnected friends that i’ve made since basically having to start over again thanks to her.
