Ryland Grace gay as hell if she looked at me like that I’d have shown her a real Hail Mary
Happy pride month to Eva Stratt. I know what she is.
"the most unrealistic thing about project hail mary is that a woman is in charge" WRONG look up the glass cliff. women are much more likely to be promoted to positions of power when things are going poorly and people need a woman to blame. she refers to herself as the "world's whipping boy." the person put in the position to have to commit ecological and humanitarian crimes of that scale in order to save the earth would only ever be a woman.

Autistic Stratt is canon to me idc. While a lot of her coldness is obviously circumstantial, I do think part of it is due to a genuine struggle to form relationships. She seems to consider herself not-quite-human, despite some effort to prove otherwise. Even the other characters often describe her as God-like so, we as the audience, also begin to view her as inhuman. Yet, she loves humanity enough to sacrifice, not only herself, but also one of the only people on earth that made her feel normal. I think seeing her as a totally average, neurotypical woman is a disservice to her character.
i dont trust anyone whos hostile towards city pigeons one bit & im being very serious about it
The only thing about Project Hail Mary that I wish they hadn’t edited from the book is the betrayal scene. While the film’s is a tough watch, nothing hits quite like, “Easy for you to say when you’re not the one being murdered! You’re murdering me!” did on my first read. I had to bookmark it and cry. It was fucking devastating.
oh my fucking god who cares about men who caresssssss
shut upppppppppppppp
Seeing Eva Stratt again tonight 😿😿😿😿 I’ve missed her so much
Thought you all would appreciate my homophobic Rocky. He is my buddy, now.
Genuinely, I am so curious about Stratt, especially her past. She mentions being a history major but, we don’t really know how she ended up with, literally, the entire weight of the world on her shoulders. How did the United Nations decide she was the most capable of spearheading Project Hail Mary? Did she choose to do it? Did someone nominate her? Was she some type of politician or, something? Did everyone know that she got shit done? She also has no partner or, presumably, family so, she had nothing holding her back. Did that factor into the decisions made, whether by her or the people who placed her in charge? So many questions. I want to know her so bad but, I also kind of love that we know absolute fuck all about her life.
Love love love that Grace is staring at the "who would you die for?" line on his whiteboard right before Rocky shows up in his xenonite container. Yes hello here is someone so important to you that you would sacrifice your life for him. He's in a hamster ball on your doorstep and he's about to run into your spaceship and insult your house and wreck your shit. You would die for him in every lifetime, and only because of that do you end up living.
Sometimes the sweet baby that activates your cuteness aggression is actually a mean as fuck forty-something year-old autistic woman.
