Another open letter to my folks.

"Hello, all of you! I'm sure you weren't expecting to hear from me again. Allow me to explain the situation for you. My mun has decided to put this blog, and me, on an official hiatus. It is very likely, actually, that this means I will die out. However, we have agreed to hold out until the next Avengers movie in an effort to see if she can muster up the courage to do this again. The chances of this are also very slim. However, I am not discouraged. The mun will be creating her personal blog within minutes of this post, and a link will be given. All of you will be followed automatically. Most importantly, I apologize. For all that has happened in the past two years, I thank you and I am sorry that it ended this way: not with a bang, but with a whimper.

An open letter to my folks.

I think at this point it's obvious that I was clearly lying when I promised at the start of the year to be more...here. Let's be honest here, my time as an RPer seems pretty much ended. Tumblr just depresses me now, since every time I get on I feel awful for not being here and the awful feeling I get when I come on is what keeps me from coming on so I don't so I feel awful when I come back eventually. I made a queue to help things and just let it run out with time. I think it may be time for me to say goodbye to Bruce Banner and get myself a personal blog, so I'm not such a disappointment to this wonderful community.

Funny thing - a woman who applied for welfare after her husband left her hadto supply DNA evidence he was actually the father. The results: he was definitely the father, but she wasn’t the mother. Her children were removed from her custody and she was sued for fraud, even though she insisted they were her children.

Turns out, she wasn’t a surrogate or a kidnapper (the two most obvious explanations) - she was a chimera. As an embryo, she fused at a very early stage with her twin, forming one individual. Her ovaries apparently developed from cells that had originally belonged to her vanished twin. Later on more tests showed that while the woman’s skin and hair DNA did not match her childrens, DNA taken from her cervix did.

LOTS of you might have organs that were never genetically your own, but the still-living remains of a sibling your body consumed. A sibling your mother most likely never knew she was carrying.

For bonus genetic shenanigans, scientists have discovered children’s cells living in their mother’s brains and body tissues. Cells pass both ways through the placenta and embed themselves in tissues and organs, so they pass to mom, where they can remain for decades or longer and can even be passed to siblings.

And, incidentally, this microchimerism is linked to boosting women’s autoimmune capacity.
