Whoa, is that MOON EUNJUNG? I love her! You might know her as DOE. She’s the MAKNAE, LEAD RAPPER, AND LEAD VOCAL of DIARY, and she’s a ‘95 LINER! She’s one of my favorites under GOLD STAR MEDIA. Don’t you think she looks a little like PARK JEONGHWA?

it wasn’t normal that haeyeon would find herself sitting alone at home on a saturday. “normal” would be at a bar with friends, going a bit to crazy and waking up the next morning regretting every time she said, “this will be my last drink, i swear.” that night, though, she found herself sitting alone on her couch with a collection of snacks, bags of fried chicken, and a few unopened bottles of beer next to her. haeyeon sometimes found herself wanting to be a bit of a homebody when it felt like too much of a bother to go out and make small talk to friends of cousins of friends’ exes. there were times that all she wanted to do was relax at home with her best friend, daeun, who she shared the apartment with.

but she was by herself that night, feeling almost completely content to sit and watch whatever random movies on netflix that grabbed her attention. the only thing was that she didn’t really want to be alone. haeyeon found herself feeling a bit in her head, a gross and uncomfortable feeling that made her crave wanting to see someone, anyone, just so she didn’t feel so alone. she paused the b-list supposed romantic comedy that she had chosen at random to grab her phone off of the charger plugged into the wall before lounging back onto the couch.

Doe had nothing to do on that saturday, it was her time to relax after promoting Starry night and now she just wanted to take the longest nap in history not even in the mood to bake something new for her unnies or fans. She was closing her eyes and getting into a comfortable position to sleep when her phone beeped next to her, with a light groan she picked it up to see the text she received, with a light frown she answered a bit worried by the don’t want to be alone part in honey’s text but still got up to change out of her pijama to go and watch the marathon with her, after all it would be relaxing and movies were always fun.

[Honey] I’m actually free [Honey] you got me with food and movies <3  [Honey]  I’m on my way. [Honey] Is everything alright?

“ah, definitely… i guess being a part of femme fatale itself is an interesting experience.” soojin has always looked up to doe. her lively personality can brighten up any room. well, she looked up to a lot of diary’s members. they are all so talented. “that would be awesome, unnie.” however, soojin doesn’t want to insist that doe should treat her and her group mates. but she shouldn’t stop the older female from doing so as doe is still her senior.  

“That’s good, as long as you enjoy what you are doing everything is worth it” All those late nights practicing, waking up early and sleeping till late, days without lunch, running from one place to another was worth it at the end of the day, at least that was how Doe thought. “Great, what do you and your girls like to eat?” bonding through food was always something doe had wanted to do for someone.

she was getting tired at this point. tired of being responsible and clear headed. she was tired of trying to take doe’s feelings into account when she wanted to rip into the both of them. but she was mostly tired of trying to convince herself that she didn’t care. so she rubbed at her eyes until the tears stopped and her eyes turned a little red. doe’s words really touched her so she offered a small smile that barely reached her eyes. she was happy to hear but at this point she just wanted to leave.

at this point she didn’t care about acknowledging her parents again. her focus stayed on her sister and nabi gave the others hand a final squeeze. “i love you i really do, i’m thankful to you too. even though i can’t stand them now, i’m thankful that they had you. i didn’t have to be your sister know what amazing person you are. you’re someone to be treasured but..big sis..needs to be alone right now. you remember where i stay right? come by later and if i’m asleep or i don’t pick up..i’ll let the guard know he can give you a spear key. but i gotta go. i love you.” nabi didn’t bother to wait for a response and took off as soon as she finished her sentence.

It was hard to see the scene unfold in front of her and she felt bad since she didn’t have the courage to stand up and say anything to her parents for being so rude but she was simply shook by everything that happened, in less that a few hours she had seen a new face of her parents, discovered that she wasn’t an only daughter like she had been told all her life, she wouldn’t have been surprised if someone told her that another part of her life was a lie. 

Doe nodded understanding her big sister, she needed her time and so did she to process everything that had just happened. “I will, I love you too Unnie.” She said in a low voice. “Stay safe” Doe said not wanting anything to happen to her, knowing that doing things when you head was somewhere else wasn’t the best thing. she stood there, whatching her go.

the only comfort she had in that moment had been doe’s hand around hers. it was something she was extremely thankful for in this moment. if she hadn’t had her sisters hand around her own, she’d probbally slap the woman. but she wouldn’t do that, because of her sister and the fact that she had image to keep up but it didn’t stop the silent tears that had started to come out of her eyes. “i did look for you, yes. i’ve known about you for years but we were never supposed to meet. i promise you that.” her vocie had taken on a watery tone.

“i never intended in doe finding out that i’m her sister. i wanted to dote on her from afar, it was enough to just to see her smiling face at the company. i know you don’t love me, i know that you didn’t want me. and i don’t need you. i was adopted by a couple who loves me until this day, they gave me another wonderful younger sister. i have a solid career and i don’t need you to survive. i’m in front of you because your daughter wanted the truth.” more tears came but she managed to keep her voice from barely breaking. “you don’t have to worry about me referring to you as mom and dad. you don’t have to worry about losing your daughter. i’m here because she wanted me to be but don’t ever think i’m looking for you to accept me in your family.” even if it was the only thing she wanted since she had found about her birth.

This was bad, very very bad, the hurtful words, the tears, there were many feelings around her, rage, sadness, pain, Doe wasn’t sure on how to react to this or to the electricity on the air. Seeing Nabi cry wasn’t something Doe wanted to see ever again, it was breaking her heart, she had been nothing but sweet and doted upon her with everything and she was only bringing her heartache by taking her with her parents. “I’m Sorry, I’m so sorry unnie” Doe wisphered on a broken voice. Nabi didn’t deserve this.

Those words hurt, but if she knew that it would en like that she would have asked nabi to come to talk with her parents. Doe wouldn’t admit it but she was glad that a loving couple was the one who adopted her sister, at least she knew that she was loved by a younger sister since her parents robbed her from that oportunity. Doe hugged her arm, resting her head on Nabi’s shoulder trying to comfort her without causing a bad reaction from her parents “No matter what you will always be my sister. Nothing will change it” She spoke softly, even if her parents didn’t want her, she did wanted her in her life and spend time with her to make it up for all those years they couldn’t.

“oh, you know, i’m happy to finally debut.” soojin did not really mind the cameras. sure, it is quite bothersome at times being followed by a camera crew, but it’s at least nice to go camping. she wonders how she managed to survive six years being mainly cooped up in her dorms or the practice room. nearly everyone under gold star is like family to her. “i think all of us are doing well and working hard.” she remembers she would often see doe practicing by herself late into the night because soojin would be doing the same thing. she is a perfectionist and wanted nothing less than perfection. she has always been quite hard on herself, but she has been trying to dial it down a little.   

Doe smiled happy to hear that a fellow golden star idol was happy, it was something that made the girl happy after all they were family no matter how much time they spent together. “That’s good, but find time to have fun too.” She winked playfully being the younger one in her group she had a little bit too much fun sometimes, “Let me treat you and your group a meal one day, it will be fun and a nice change of pace.”

nabi watched their faces carefully, once she said mom and dad they seemed to freeze and as doe spoke to them she watched the emotions play across their face. shock, hurt, confusion. anger? maybe but she did see the fear. their expression turned into one of mainly fear and they eyes stayed focused on doe. at that moment she felt like she knew what they were thinking about. would the daughter they gave up turn the one they loved against them? no, she wouldn’t do that.

they didn’t say anything so nabi spoke up. “i don’t want anything from you, i’m doing this for doe. i never intended for her to find out that i knew who she was or who you were.” she paused and cleared her throat because there was so much she wanted to ask, she wanted to scream and cry but what use would it be now? before she could speak, her mother finally spoke up and she couldn’t say she knew what the woman would say but it still shocked her. “you did this on purpose didn’t you?” her father moved to open his mouth but their mother steamed rolled over him. “we didn’t look for you, so why are you looking for us?”

Doe stared at them, not blinking, not losing the eye contact simply because she wanted to see their reaction. She didn’t know what she expected pehaps sadness or regect for leaving one of their daughters like that but she didn’t see it, she saw sadness and fear but it was towards her, not to her sister. Doe holded Nabi’s hand a little bit harder, both of them needed each others straight for this. 

Her eyes turned to her as she spoke, saying that it was because of her made her smile a little, Nabi had done things for her ever since she debuted but none of those felt as special as that day. Doe wasn’t expecting those words at all, the woman who said those words was someone she had never seen, her mom was carying and lovely who would pat her head and hug her on hard days, a woman who cheered on her whenever she spoke about her dream...she would have never said something like that to her. “Mom!” Doe exclaimed feeling hot tears behind her eyes, she was a sentimental girl and this situation was hard for her, someone who felt too much. Her attention was on Nabi again, squeezing her hand gently, as if telling her she was sorry for putting her through this, “Why are you saying such hurtful things?”

soojin has always noticed that eunjung is always smiling. she has a bright personality compared to soojin’s rather stoic disposition. others seem to think that she’s quite a cold person, but that’s certainly not the case. femme fatale’s image doesn’t help either as some netizens pointed out that she looks like someone with a bad attitude. gold star encouraged her to show a more relatable and warm side of herself. 

“yeah, it is nice, eunjung unnie.” soojin’s lips curl into a little smile. “i think it’s awesome we can hang out like this.” she adds, “you know… outside of the company and all.”  

Doe smiled at being called unnie rather than sunbae, it felt more like they were all a family inside Gold star. She nodds at lola’s words, it was quite awesome to be able to hang out without the pressure of a comeback or promotions, only to talk and spend some time with the people who you saw more than your own family. “You are right, it would be even better without cameras but at least we got some free time.” Doe spoke the last words in a softer tone, not wanting the cameras to catch on her words. “How is everything going? I hope no one in your group is being too hard on themselves.” it was funny how she always looked out for everyone but she was still from the last ones to leave goldstar at night being too busy practicing.

there was slight confusion on the couples face but at a word from doe  they started to move. it pained her slightly but she just gave her sisters hand a slight squeeze. the four left out the shop in silence and nothing was said until they made it to a park that wasn’t too far away. thankfully, there weren’t people around but nabi had wanted to keep an eye out. if someone was passing by then they’d have to shut up right away. “uh..i don’t know how to say this…” her voice was soft and she looked everywhere but them.

“mom..dad..” the words were hard to get out and it felt like she wanted to cry right away. “uhh..hi.” really how did she go about this calmly? right now nabi wanted to scream and cry and just be upset but she couldn’t. not when doe was right next to her, she didn’t deserve that. not her pretty sister her parents deserved every bit of it but her sister deserved the world.

Doe smiled in relief, letting out a breath she didn’t even know she was holding in first place. Turning to look at Nabi with a soft smile, an encouraging one for her since she knew that it was also hard for her, she wanted to tell her that it would all be fine now that they were all together but she knew that the world wasn’t as pink as she thought it was, it had love, sweetness and kindness but it also had sadness, hate and hurt so she simply squeezed it back as if telling her they were on this together.

Her brown eyes moved between them, stating at Nabi as she spoke and then to them, waiting for the response, words, an expression, anything that would tell her what was going on through their minds after all they were her parents and even if they hide something from her they still loved her or so she wanted to think. Doe’s free hand went to rubb her sister’s arm in a comforting way, it’s alright take your time, she wanted to say but no words left her mouth yet. Her eyes turned to her parents “I think you have quite a few things to explain to me and to unnie.”

it felt good to see doe’s tears dry up, she would’t have been able to stand it if her sister continued to cry. it felt even better that doe decided to follow her lead. she showed her sister another smile and when they were both standing and doe’s hands were locked with hers, she could’ve cried. but she managed to hold it together somehow and stared her parents in their face. it seemed like they knew who she was but nabi wasn’t sure because of what. they knew she was an idol, they knew she in their daughters company but did they know she was their child?

the couple didn’t get far before the two met them. she wasn’t sure what to say but she had to say something. “ah, nice to meet you. doe wanted to talk you about something but i advised her to do it in a less public setting….” nabi nodded her head towards the door. what more could she say?

Doe gave Nabi a small smile as she felt the tears in her face dry, and the hiccuping gone. She turned to look at her parents while a smile grew on her face, simply because it was the usual greeting whenever she saw them the biggest grin would appear on her face as she ran to hug them both but this time only a small smile was present, poor Doe didn’t know how to react or how they were going to face eachother as the truth came out. Honestly that worried her.

“Hi mom, dad” She greeted, staying at Nabi’s side and not letting go of her. “Please, please it’s something really important for me” Eunjung spoke with a soft voice and a little beet of aegyo since she knew her parents couldn’t say no to that ever since she was a little kid.
