Melaina's birthday was on the 13th, I rarely get the chance to draw something for it since I'm always too busy with Inktober and Halloween prep at this time of year
Hey peoples, as most of you know I usually do the Inktober Challenge every October.
This year, I'm actually going to skip it. No real big reason behind this decision, I'm just not in the mood to do it.
Thought admittedly, last year I did get a ton of tension migraines due to my current desk and chair setup not being great for hunching over a sketchbook, sooooo I kinda want to avoid that crap.
But hey, because I'm not trying to crank out drawings every day, I'll have room to hopefully do some spooky themed drawings I normally wouldn't be able to create.

I made this for a Phantasy Star Online RP server I'm in.
They're an organization and cleaning robot who's modelled after a Summoner class pet called a Popple.
This was mostly done for fun. Technically, this is a partial redraw of this piece.

Trying my hand at making a more professional looking character sheet, specifically one that could potentially be used for 2D animation.
This is Ras, a mercenary for the Galactic Anti-Poaching Organization.

Ras is an alien from an unknown planet who was abducted from her home when she was just a baby. Growing up, she was tossed around various poacher gangs who saw her as an exotic little trophy and/or a servant to clean up their base or ship. If the poachers she was with all died during a raid or got tired of her rebellious attitude, she'd be given away to a different gang. At one point all her of original kidnappers ended up dying, so nobody has a record of where she came from. When Ras was about 11, she was rescued by the Galactic Anti-Poaching Organization when the gang she was with got busted. Ras ended up living with and eventually adopted by a very kind xeno zoologist named Percival Hinks. He offered to help research where her home planet might be based on her physical characteristics and what type of environment they were adapted for. Unfortunately, they've had no luck with all the currently documented planetary systems. At 18 she decided to register for military training to hone her natural hunting instincts and put them to good use. A few years later she applied for a job with the very same people who rescued her, both to show her gratitude to them and because she has a bone to pick with the bastards who kicked her around for all those years.
Also fun fact: she picked the name Ras because as a kid she loved pissing off one poacher in particular who would oftentimes call her a little rascal.
You know what guys? I think I spend way too much time and effort on this whole art thing. I'm gonna dial it back a little and take a more casual approach
So over a year ago, I asked my friends over on a Discord RP server to pick one of their characters for me to draw and where they should all hang out at. This was going to be a Christmas gift in 2023 but then I got busy with finishing college and I got hit with the worst case of burnout I have ever experienced.
But now it's finished! This is perhaps one of the biggest and most complex pieces of digital art I've done so far. I'm really happy with how it turned out but I'm also relieved that I don't have to touch it ever again, it feels like a weight off my shoulders.
And most importantly all my friends loved it :D

A few years ago I drew Melaina in a necromancer gown and last Halloween I made Nameless a necromancer/witch doctor outfit, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity for them to dress up together (and for me to make a really bad pun lmao)
