So I’ve never had children so I really don’t have a poke in this fire of what’s going on with this current baby formula scandal that’s going on down in the States that the Republicans have turned political and I understand that not all women can breastfeed and I understand how devastating that can be for the mom so there are many layers to this conversation- but I know some things about feeding a dog a kibble based diet so I know about weird ingredients so I went and had a look at the ingredients in baby formula and man - if I was a mom and couldn’t breastfeed - I really don’t know if I’d be feeding them baby formula - I don’t know if in the first 12 months of their life I’d be filling them so full of these chemicals - there must be a better way to feed your baby real food that doesn’t involve these chemicals when you can’t breast feed - being a mother is not easy and this is just one of the ways it shows - really just don’t procreate is my advice and then you don’t have to worry about this at all 😊 #babyformula #noknifeinthisfight #dogkisserinternationalheadquarters (at Dogkisser International Headquarters) https://www.instagram.com/p/Cdijll-L4v3/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Bubby wasn’t feeling quite safe enough to go in the water here when we were out for our walk today- there was a dropoff here - long lake is part of our walk but then Sidney wanted to go off the trail at a different spot and there was a beach down there - with a couple of ladies who he got attention from and three dogs - so he was happy - and Bubby is so funny - he doesn’t really swim - he goes out a couple inches and just lays down - he is such an interesting dog - I didn’t get a picture of it because I was too busy keeping leashes straight #bubbythebichon #hidingsidney #longlake #silly #thursday #sunnyday #dogkisserinternationalheadquarters (at Dogkisser International Headquarters) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdeCSkhJvRm/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

So sometimes when I go to places I like to check out properties near there to see how egregiously they are priced - or maybe I need to act quickly and change my life immediately- you never know what’s going to happen when you look - so far my life hasn’t changed - today after I came home from Prospect Bay I went and looked on viewpoint and I found this - I don’t know how much greedier the land grabbers can get than this - two sections were sold in April 2022 and they are going to cut off the access point for the entirety of the trail for Prospect Bay - so today may be the last time I ever get to go there with the dogs - I’ve been going there for 20 years - as you can see by the listing one of the plots is assessed at $35,000 and it sold at $199,000 - there’s two plots - each sold for $199,000 - so someone just made a pile of money on the vacant land that that is really shitty land that is going to be really difficult to build a house on - but someone’s going to make a complete mess of our pristine coastline - so utterly mind crushingly disappointing #prospectbay #sodisappointing #dogkisserinternationalheadquarters (at Dogkisser International Headquarters) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdZT9gPJ3pF/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

And here we have the video portion of our adventure - we went to Prospect Bay today to celebrate Murphy’s 2nd got day for coming to my house - he arrived here two years ago today and I wanted to do something special for him coming here - he has improved mine and the other dogs loves so much - especially Bubby’s life - although truthfully I think he prefers the woods to todays outing - but it’s all good 😊 - I’d like to thank his former owners for being brave enough to realize they weren’t the right home for him and decided to give him up so that he could come live with me - I really appreciate that and I’ll do my best to give him a good life that he deserves 😊 #murphythepoodle #prospectbay #fun #itsmybirthday #gotday #may10 (at Dogkisser International Headquarters) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdYx0bRpzq5/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

Awhile ago I wrote a post somewhere on social media about the fact that if I was rich I would have goblets of gold bouillon laying around the house - just laying around open - if you’re rich you can afford to do things like that right? Just have bars of gold hanging around your house - the price for an ounce of gold today is $2412- that’s nothing for a rich person, am I right? I was at the bulk barn last week and I saw chocolate loonies and for $17 I can have the effect of having gold bouillon laying around the house for a fraction of the price - I just can’t have any of it near a dogs nose - so I can live the life of Riley - just don’t look too close - very good feng shui! Well we had a bit of an adventure this afternoon- I had Sidney back at the vet because his ears are no better after having taken apoquel for several weeks and he’s also chewing his feet and he’s opened up a spot at the base of his tail - I don’t know if he’s reacting to some trees outside that he’s allergic to in addition to what he’s eating that has put him way over threshold and I’ve also changed his food twice trying to figure things out so he is really uncomfortable poor guy - so we were back and Dr Doucette says the next step is steroids just to make him less uncomfortable and then we’ll look at food again. After that - one step at a time - so that was all fine and normal - I thought it’s not too cold we’ll go for a nice walk. In 12 years I have never take Sidney off leash because when I got him when he was 9 months old I took him off leash and he bolted so I didn’t take the chance again. We’ll today - I took the chance again - and he bolted again. There is a very nice walk if you’re driving the 103 towards Halifax just past exit 3 - there’s a big yellow road thingee on the right hand side of the road - park there and it must be a road access for something - I’ve never found that thing but it’s great for walking the dogs. Bubby has always been pretty reliable off leash - he just can’t be around other humans because he runs up to them and jumps up so I only take him into the woods - but other than that he sticks close - but today Sidney showed me that I was correct in not taking him off leash the last 12 years - and I won’t again - I looked for him for awhile where he went missing from - and then I decided to double back wondering if he’d headed back towards the car and sure enough when I got back to the road there was a man there asking me if I was missing a dog and there was Sidney - he said Sidney was running down the middle of the 103 - I was so thankful that the man had caught him - we really dodged a bullet today - never again - it’s lucky that Sidney is so beautiful #hidingsidney #disaster #dogkisserinternationalheadquarters (at Dogkisser International Headquarters) https://www.instagram.com/p/CdJhBB8Jfnl/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
